 Hello all,
Read through but nothing really to add- feeling a bit tired today and just noticed my gums are a bit pale. Ive not been taking my mummy vitamins so now im paying the price.
Well, got my cards today- and yes, there was one from A in awful handwriting because she wrote it herself apparently.
Im getting my proper present tomorrow. So im slowly forgiving him...
My friends have just been round but I didnt really have anything to talk to them about- except A. Oh well, they said they didnt mind though as shes very cute.A big priority now needs to be schools but how can I tell a good school??
Gill, schools can change all the time. Ofsted inspections are also a little unreliable as its only a reflection of the school over a few days. I have actually heard of schools organising trips for 'special' children during an inspection so that they arent in the building or lessons, causing problems. I can only give my advice on secondary: I would have a look at the league tables, good schools are usually in the top three over so many years. And always check what percentage of pupils recieved 5 A*-C INCLUDING Maths and English (national average and a GOOD score is around 55-60%). An example of an awful school in our area is that they have advertised on their billboard outside: 58% gained 5 A*-C. If that figure showed how many actually got English and Maths too it would be 12%!!!!!
I would agree with going to the school open days and requesting a visit too. Keep an eye out on the corridor for children that may have been sent out. And listen carefully on the corridors because you arent going to be shown the naughty classes but you will hear them.First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0 -
Ashton and parson powders are awesome.
DS1 party went well, except the part where my *ahem* very large MIL fell off the chair, well, kinda toppled chair and all, sideways and hurt down her left side. No idea what happened, they were just plastic garden chairs and I think she twisted round to see nephew and the chair leg just twisted. It was uhm... she just lay there! For about 10mins before we could get her up. Quite a WFT moment.
Got talking to one of the mums. Her son is in DS1 class and has Aspergers, (I'd never noticed) and she was asking about DS2's school. She has been trying to get H in there for 3 years! But H gets 4 hours help per day at school which we were told DS2 wouldn't get. They have the same EP too.
So how is everyone? Any news?0 -
Yay for walkings and cruisings, boo for teeth and unwell mummies

Has anyone ever come across a very swollen and red willy in their little boys or have any idea what could cause it? First noticed this afternoon and just put him to bed and is worse, its almost purple looking
Will obviously be looking to get him to the doc tomorrow asap. No wonder he has been a massive grump the last couple of days
Trust this to happen when OH's holiday is over tomorrow, he's been off the last 2 weeks and could have taken him while i've been at work

Big hugs to poorly mummies and babies. Stinkersaurus is finally in bed and I am productively looking at fleecey sleepsuits (for Fartacus Maximus) and waterproof coats (for me) on ebay.
Do you think it's worth getting a couple of 9-12 month fleece sleepsuits? The Next ones all seem to run too big for her and I don't want her getting chilly cause she's too small for the 12-18 month ones, but there again she's already 13.5 months and I don't know how long she'll need them for.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

em, take him to the GP. My lil bro had a tight foreskin that got so bad he was virtually unable to urinate. Took over a year for the doctors to figure out what was wrong! He was circumcised and was fine afterwards. I tend to take swollen willies seriously. (and not in that way!) Don't tell my brother I was talking about his willy.
SS, I wouldn't, she will be due a sudden vertical growth spurt. Amber has just had hers and suddenly her legs are not so fat looking! lol0 -
Ouchee - sounds painful Em. Hope it is something easily resolved. Has he been weeing okay?
Benjamin keeps getting a little stiffie when I change his nappy - he thinks that it is hilarious :rotfl::rotfl:Yes I'm another Rebecca
You look more of a lunatic when you talk to them and they are not there, or you rock an empty trolley backwards and forwards in the supermarket
OMG I do this all the time :rotfl: that and wander round singing 'Wind the bobbin up' or whatever
Speaking of which - Benjamin can now do all the WTBU actions :T:T clever boy.please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

SS Izzy still loves her sleepsuits. She has also discovered that if she unpops her poppers she can yell and yell till I fasten them up again for her, thus delaying bedtime. Look out for some with zips

She had one of those already Tia - her legs look almost like real person legs! But some of her 9-12 sleepsuits are starting to be a bit skin tight while others are still comedically baggy and loose. I wish sizes were properly standardised.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

They keep on having them SS! in August we spent a small fortune on clothes for DSS and he has shot up and his trousers are short already :mad:
I need to sort Benjamin out with some 18-24 month trousers - he has plenty of pairs of shorts but he can't really wear them now

choppy- sounds like you had an amazing time! i have copied your post and saved it to 'learn it' for work. what cruise line was it? such a positive experience to have on a cruise with a toddler and a big massive YAY for walking
i went to buy some sleepsuits for Kian as he has been just in a vest all summer and the asda only had pastel colours which werent very nice. so i got him some pj's. he looks very grown up.
