I'd go for big/little sis matching tops, when you arrive ignore the baby and speak to the toddler first, she'll probably be excited and want to show your her new sister and it'll all be lovelyMy_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Those of you with 2 kids (or more) of the same flavour - any suggestions for a good new baby gift?
One of my mummy friends had a second baby girl last week (her eldest was 2 in July) and I don't really want to buy clothes/books/toys because they have everything from the first babba.
I am completely bereft of ideas....
Also - do you think that it would be a good idea to buy the 2yo a little something for when we visit?
Were the 2 born around the same season? I ended up needing a lot of new clothes for Ed because he was a summer baby and Chris was winter, aimming for #3 in the middle of their b-days

Mfd I was also about to suggest matching t-shirts. L's favourite thing ever was an "I'm the big sister" top, although she was a bit older than 2! Mothercare do little sized ones, I had to get ours from eBay.
The other ones were t-shirts from simply colours. L has Liv 2000 and v has the same colour and wording violet 2009. Very cute and good quality.:beer:0 -
well done for steps and teeth

Hugs for poorly mums and babies, Charlie was sick in the bath tonight and is now sound alseep so think he may have a bug?
Must be a loosing streak here as i lost the hire car keys last night, i couldnt sleep as i was terrified someone was going to steal it! Found them this morning. I am very forgetful just now and its getting really bad?
My kittens are eating bubble and squeak and are growling at me when i try to take it away lol!
Presents i would buy a baby record book/photo album for the baby and a doll or book for 2 year old

Bingo posters, I've just asked a question in the newbie forum. Please feel free to post inanely

Think I'm going to grab some painkillers and head to bed. Cool weather causes achey joints around here and I just turned my wrist too quickly and almost made myself sick.
Tia, spoonful of honey and a shot of whisky

I was trying to work it out - elder one is July, younger one September so they might not have much winter littlie stuff...but the elder one is tiny (still only just in 12-18 month stuff, Benjamin is bigger than her) so they might have some things.
*shrugs*
Matching tops sounds good though - ta
please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

I still haven't managed to get round to making her tutu (maybe I should make it for one of her Xmas presents!).I'm good thanks. Had a brilliant summer holidays with trips out with my brood. Looking forward to the October week now
We got a cheap one from Early Learning Centre for Charlotte. It's been well used and it's still in good condition. She's currently out in the street pushing it up and down because her baby needed some fresh air
The garden wheelie bin was getting a bit full, so to squash it down, I picked Charlotte up and bounced her up and down in the bin. She thought it was hilarious and keeps asking to play in the bin
Glad you've been off having a good time. Thank you for the advice. I'll have a look in ELC. I've missed her your Charlotte-isms. She's so cute.
Mel - try and take it easy hun, although I know that's far easier said than done

I'm upstairs lurking on my phone, waiting for her to stop poking me in the eyes and go to sleep!
. Does V still have her 3am walkabouts too?
What am I missing with fleecy sleepsuits? We don't have any. Should we?!? We are just in sleepsuits or long-sleeved and legged PJs at the moment. I bought some winter sleeping bags a couple of weeks ago so was just going to add a vest and a sleeping bag for extra layers.0 -
