He hasn't done anything really 3 :rotfl: Just posted on my FB that the cat just needs salt water on her sore foot and not a trip to the vet. In between her toes on one foot, its all scabby raw and hairless as it must be itching her, so she is licking and biting it constant, so she really does need to go and I don't think dunking her foot in salt water will do much except p1ss her off, and make her lick it dry - spewing cat.0

Evening all..
I'm catching up / lurking / christmas shopping..
kitkat, I'm a former expresser :hello: I expressed and bottle fed (with the very occasional, but not proper, middle-of-the-night breastfeed) for a year
This is the list of hints and tips written by feelinggood, a former (much missed!) poster of ours, which will hopefully be of help to you
Any questions, just shout!
Thanks Elle
you have given me hope! My MW/ and any BF advisor I have spoken to keep telling me I am doing the 'unnatural' thing and that my supply will dry up, but you managed it for a year! Thats pretty impressive!! Thanks for the hints and tips, there are some that I never knew so I will try follow those from now on. One thing that is currently letting me down is that I am borrowing a pump from my local hospital and they are taking in back due to them feeling I should be 'properly' BFing  could you recommend a good electric pump at all? All I have as back up is a manual pump, which I do find quite good but unsure whether it will work if used solely. 0 -

Well he said cats can release a pheramone so they don't feel as much pain, I think that is true actually but it still doesn't mean it won't hurt! Me and Keira will be going to the vets tomorrow at lunch time and I've already take £50 out his bank to cover it so NERRRRRRRRRRRsearching_me wrote: »cats dont feel pain ... hmmm ........... ok wait til he gets a cut then pour a bucket of salt water on it .. then go sorry i didnt realise @rseholes felt pain

Unconventional, perhaps, but not unnatural!
I did have the help of domperidone, can't deny that
I got to 6.5mths of exclusive expressing, then started the odd bottle of formula, then slowly more formula and EBM only on Rhys' weetabix by 12mths
I used a Medela Symphony in hospital (first eight weeks), then a Medela Swing (bought new in Boots for £90) for a few months, then started renting a Medela Symphony (£65 for the first two weeks, then £40 a month) once I knew I was in it for the longhaul (would have loved to have moved to 'direct' feeding but, for various reasons, it wasn't to be for us).
I think Tia recommended the Medela Mini Electric Plus. It doesn't have the two phase thingy the Swing has, but it's a double so will halve your pumping time and increase the signals needed for supply. I think they're about £65 to buy brand new.
ETA: This is the link for an (American, mostly) expressing mums group I used to subscribe to too. They were good for tips, plus the KellyMom site if you've not seen it already
ETA2: Incidentially, if anyone's looking for a new Swing, they're down to £74.95 at expressyourselfmums
