The best ;-)
At least according to my bank.
My Experian Credit Score is in the top third, but not the top 10%
They seem to have some very peculiar methods of working their score out. Probably based on postcode;-)
Thanks colinho and davidbuk,
Thought as much....any others out there want to let us know?0 -
Mine is good :T and I'd like it to stay that way particuarly as my mortgage is due for renewal in a couple of months. I certainly don't need any rubbish from MCO hanging about on my rating.
I don't think that it will. Experian are going to have a lot of questions to answer at some point.0 -
My elderly father who has dementia got one of these letters last weekend. I happened to open it. It was obviously very fishy from the off. My Dad hasn't got a computer and even if he did he wouldn't be able to use it much less want a payday loan.
I emailed Helploan advising them that I thought he'd been the victim of identity fraud and asking them to deal with me as I have power of attorney. Unfortunately, I gave them my contact details and address:(. I had googled but didn't spot any complaints at that time.
Since I hadn't heard from them I thought I'd chase this up today and discovered to my horror the extent of this business. I've called AF and left my number for them to contact me. I'll just wait for them to do so. Sounds like this is going to be a long one!
Cheers,
jahman
I would suggest that you don't wait for AF to call back - keep trying and you will get through. Best time seems to be around 5 pm - they are open until 8.00 pm tonight.0 -
Out of interest.....How many of us have good credit ratings?
Well mine was completely 'clean'. There are two entries from MCO, one a Id. Generic Check, the other (same day) a 'Personal Loan'.
I have :- reported to ActionFraud and got a Crime Ref. No.
- Sent a Recorded delivery to MCO's Bressenden Place address (as advised by AF), complete with letter copies and relevant email prints
- Sent another set to their registered office in Kingsway.
- Emailed Experian to ask for the fraudulent entries to be removed (with copy of my letter to MCO).
- Advised the Consumer Direct (SouthWest) and Poole Consumer Protection of the latest developments (including the existence of this thread), which follows my earlier report to them when I received the first letter four weeks ago.
And lastly, I would say the contact at ActionFraud this morning was excellent. It does take a while to get it all recorded on the phone, but the AF person was very clear, efficient and helpful. I'm sure they are particularly busy at the moment, so please don't take frustration out on them. I dialled (and waited for an answer, not diverted on the '1' key) just after nine this morning..it was picked up right away.0 -

Well done! Textbook process followed (important not to be diverted by the #1 key) Have not heard if FSA involved (doesn't mean they aren't) but saw a mention of them in an earlier post. I believe that the powers that be (including those in the AF) have decided that it should progress via AF to NFIB (National Fraud Investigation Branch). I assume that the FSA are too busy bashing the big banks!!!:o0 -

FSA job is to pretend to bash the big banks; as you will have noted from the current scam we call "the government" (MCO are rank amateurs), when big banks lose money (to each other), by changing the value of a few dodgy bits of paper through the medium of the "variable decimal point" method of accounting, the subsequent imaginary trillion pound debt is passed over as a real debt to the UK taxpayer, who is then told he has "been living beyond his means".
It's even worse if you are a US citizen, where January is going to bring unbelievable tax hikes collected by a privately owned debt collection agency called the IRS on behalf of a bunch of scammers (also privately owned, you'll never guess by whom) called the Federal Reserve.
Just though I'd liven up the discussion ;-)0 -
