Latest from CoLP web site

Investigation team receive thousands of MCO Capital witness statements

The responses came after more than 7,000 letters were sent to people whose personal details may have been used by fraudsters to make false loan applications to the Finnish company.
A second batch of 1,000 letters have now been posted out by the investigation team.
Det Insp Perry Stokes said:
“I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to provide us with details about the false loans taken out in their name. The excellent response has provided us with a clearer picture of the nature of this fraud and given us an excellent platform to take this investigation forward.”
As the enquiry continues to develop, five people remain on police bail following arrests in October and November in London and across the South East.
The investigation team continues to work closely with MCO Capital, which also trades under the names Help Loans and Balance Loans.

Yes Global Warming is surprisingly cold isn't it. Probably why they tend to call it Climate Change now. It means you have to pay "Green" taxes whichever way the temperature goes!
Latest proposal is that the terms "global warming" and "climate change" should be called "climate challenges"!! You couldn't make it up.
So far this winter my personal climate challenges has been some 4 feet in total of snow (aka global warming). I invited the Climate Change Minister - Huhne - to help me shovel the damned stuff but he refused:mad:

I think the way this works is as follows:

Global warming: You can charge extra taxes if things get warmer.

Climate change: You can charge extra taxes if things get warmer or colder.

Climate Challenges: You can charge extra taxes if things get warmer or colder or stay the same.

Often referred to as "Green Taxes" I predict this phrase may be changed to "Non-specific colour taxes".

Other thoughts of the day are: why scrap Harrier and Nimrod when they are likely to be useful? Why not scrap tanks instead as they haven't been used since 1945?

Come on guys - I know I've strayed off the subject somewhat but don't tell me you don't have views on these issues? (I think discussing what is done with tax payers' money is OK with Martin Lewis) - if it isn't, please let me know and I'll phone Jeremy Vine instead!

BIG BUMP!!!!

OH has received letters to his mum's address from these people. It looks like I'm going to have to read the whole thread. Immediate advice needed, OH's parents are climbing the walls!!!!
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

Hi Screamer

The most important thing is DO NOT IGNORE THE LETTER. Firstly, you should write to MCO Capital as per the advive on the Action Fraud web site - see: http://www.actionfraud.org.uk/mco-capital-limited-dec10. Secondly report this fraud to the City of London Police - see below

In your letter simply declare that you have NOT taken out a loan as per the letter you received - the following is from the AF site.

"Anyone who has received false demands for loans in connection with this matter and has yet to report this as a criminal matter should contact MCO Capital via the new address of:
MCO Capital Ltd, PO Box 6024, Warwick, CV04 9NL

They can also call 0844 8797688 or email lossprevention@mcocapital.co.uk.

A simple letter declaring you have not taken out a loan along with confirmation of your name and address should ensure enforcement action to reclaim the loan is put on hold, pending the police investigation.

People affected by the fraud can contact the investigating team by leaving a short message on 020 7164 8222 or email operationgalloway@cityoflondon.police.uk "

Hope this helps, Screamer - good luck

• Hi I got a second letter today, (the first being in september) from a company called credit collections. They sent this only adressed to my christian name ,I already have a CRN from action fraud is it wise to give any further information to mco other than my CRN number.I still do not trust them at all.
• I got a letter today from a fairly local collection agency asking for this to be paid (now totalling £726) I thought this was all over :(

Hi,

I have also had a letter this morning from Credit Collections-despite having sent several recorded delivery letters
to various MCO addresses & their previous collection agency.

Will follow Geomacl's advice & send emails to the MCO & CoLP addresses mentioned. I'll also put Credit Collections
on copy, to prevent any further action - previous experience shows that MCO aren't that good at dealing with
correspondence !
• It said on the letter to pay within 7 days or to get in touch with MCO Capital if this is a case of fraud. The contact details on the letter are -
MCO Capital Ltd,
PO Box 6024,
Warwick,
CV34 9NR
info@mcocapital.co.uk
0844 879 7688
