**Weekend Chat 4&5 Sept - It may be grey outside but there's a warm welcome in here**

Good Morning DFWs :)

The weekend is a good time to get some rest & do some sorting out.

As we don't have Luc here setting us a challenge, how about:

How might you spend less this weekend than you normally do?

Why not post ideas and we can see what inspires us?

I've got a parcel to collect, DH's car "needs" to go get new tyres fitted, need to put another coat of paint on truck (if dry/warm enough) and BBQ this afternoon/evening at a friends.

Well after looking at the clubcard rewards and being totally underwhelmed at the choice of holidays on there I have decided to cash in my clubcard vouchers and buy a new mattress so OH and I can get a decents night sleep.

I have enough to totally cover the cost so thanks MrT;)

Dinner is in the slow cooker to stop any temptation of a takeaway tonight too:)
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

    Morning folks,

To spend less, I always make a list before leaving the house & make sure I have everything I need on it to avoid having to go out again. I live 9 miles from the nearest town and the cost of Diesel if you forget something and have to go out again makes it annoying. The list also stops me from making impulse purchases!
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

I love lists....always spend more if I don't have one.

I'm doing my weekly shop online at the moment so that I'm not tempted by all the 3 for 2 offers and other goodies that I can't resist when I go myself. It's a bit of a pain compiling the list, but it does mean that I've got meals for the week sorted and therefore more likely to eat healthily.

I'm determined to start using my slow cooker too. We bought it 2 years ago and it's never come down from the top of the cupboard. Heard some great things about it, so will get it down and leave it on the worktop and put something else in its place.

I am off to a fete, so I will probably spend more than I would normally on a Saturday :(

My daughter is running a stall there and at the moment the front room looks like a bomb has hit it. Will drop her off, come back and tidy up and then head over there myself.

Hope you all have a good day.

I agree, lists are brilliant, I can't get enough of them! I obviously need to get out more. :rotfl:

I'll be Debt Free on Mon! :j :j :j Which might explain why I'm in such a good mood today. I'm not even dreading work for once. :rotfl: I cut up my cards at James' house before I went home (which might make cancelling them quite interesting :D ) and I just need to delete them from Amazon and set my Oyster card to my debit card instead. That is, when I get a new debit card as someone tried to clone it not long ago! So the bank's sending a new one out to me.

Today's going to involve a fair bit of spending, I'm afraid. :o The landlord's back Mon or Tues so I have to batch cook until I'm blue in the face today. Mostly stuff with veggie mince in it, as I've got about three bags taking up most of the freezer room. I think I'll move onto lentils soon, much easier to store. Also, I need to replace a few things I 'borrowed' from the landlord while he's been away. :o In the meantime, I'd better get the washing on. Last night, the forecast was for sun all day. Now it's cloudy and due to rain tonight. Typical, I knew I should've put the machine on time delay last night. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Talk soon, everyone!

  • morning all.

My 'spend less' is that OH didn't get back in until god know what time in the morning (after saying he was only going to watch the football and yes he would like some dinner), so I don't have to make any dinner tonight as his is in the fridge and I'm on CD.

Snaffled a lovely brand new funky styled cardigan on ebay that I got with 1 bid. I think if they'd listed it finishing in the evening today rather than 9am it would have gone for lots more so I'm pleased with that. My maximum bid was £8 and I got it for £4.99 :D

    Morning all :)
The sun is out here this morning, and OH has planned a bbq for tonight so he will be buying the food (saves me pennies as I dont have many) although where I've been up cleaning the house since 8.30am, he is still oh so helpfully sleeping!!
And then I expect he will get up and play on his playstation instead of help me :(
Just putting a couple of CDs onto my iPod then I'd better get back to it.
Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you have planned.
    Lots of Love xxxxxx
