Redsam - My courgette plants have been naff this year, I'm over run with beans and tomatoes though.

DD1 called in a state - she'd been hit in the face with a rock (some younger kids chancing their arm against a group of 30odd 14/15 year olds in a park)...DD was walking away from the unfolding trouble and got a rock in the face.....luckily her friends took her straight to the nearest place to get ice and got her calmed down before one of them brought her home on the bus...Huge fat lip and the inside looks like one big blood blister and some lovely brusing to go with! She's a bit shaken but ok.

Teenagers get such a bad press but they all acted quickly to make sure she was ok whilst the 9/10 year old yobs that did it just ran away laughing. I'm very proud of how her friends dealt with it. :T

No Scaredy - we've no idea who the kids were, there's no CCTV in the area so I don't think there's much point.

The ones you mentioned last night aren't worth considering particularly with the drive each day still. Is Merley First an option? I don't know if it's a good school though. Have you considered a faith school such as St Marys with then progression to St Edwards? Obviously that caters to a specific sector of pupils and I don't know if a Roman Catholic or C of E school would be appropriate for you but they are supposed to be good schools in Poole.

    No space BB
The 10 closest schools to us are all full  In fast the only 3 schools in the whole of the poole borough that have space are
    Hamworthy
Turlin Moor and Hillside/Hillbourne (think thats the one, down by Rossmore:eek:)

  • hmmmm................that isn't good Sally although Hamworthy is only just over the bridge so isn't at the Turlin Moor end. My colleague's son and friend are the 2 deputy heads there........actually........they got a 2 in their last Ofsted report.......and quite a few grade 1's, including a 1 for their Early Years provision.........that's really good!!

Pooky - sorry to hear about DD1. I'd have been livid!!

Sal - not sure what to say, but thinking of you and keeping everything crossed that a miracle happens for you hun x

Had a productive day today so am feeling very pleased with myself. Bought a new phone and got a good package deal at the same time. Phone was worth £79 but I only paid £20 thanks to Tesco doubling-up vouchers and signing up for the £10 per month deal. Details are on my diary thread...........I said details are on MY DIARY THREAD (shameless plug) if anyone's interested.

In case you're not interested (although I'd find that very hard to believe lol) I pay £10 per month DD and get 500 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet usage. I'm chuffed to bits. No contract, no credit check and can cancel at any time. Sorted.
