Hi,
Just want to let everyone that the best place I think to shop is Costco (https://www.costco.co.uk) They offer really cheap stuff and do offer discount prices via special offer vouchers but the main reason I shop there is because of there excellent CS (no problems on returns from when ever and what ever the condition !)
Yes I know you have to be a member and pay a small fee to be a member but it a perfect place to shop.

I agree it is a very good place to shop if
a) you need large quantities of stuff and have sufficient storage space to keep them.
or
b) you live close enough to a branch to pop in every couple of weeks - could be dangerous, see below.
Personally, I find it too easy to get carried away in Costco and therefore limit myself to a 'quarterly' visit - will be going very soon, yaaay! Thank goodness it's a 30 mile round trip, any closer and I'd be bankrupt! Also, not everything is cheaper there - you need to be very vigilant and know your stuff re price comparisons.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -

Their returns policy is second to none. Just take the item back, even without a receipt (they can check your purchase by scanning your membership card) and they refund without quibble.
Been a member for years, have you tried their lamb steaks!?!?!Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Quite agree about their returns policy - have only used it once, but absolutely excellent.
We find all of their meat excellent quality (including the lamb steaks). The fish (e.g. salmon) is also great.
If you qualify for membership and you have a store reasonably near, then it is worth a look.

I found it hard to store the giant packs of everything.
...and the giant packs of food....well you need to be disciplined or you just end up eating loads!!x x x0 -
We visit Costco quite regularly even though there are only two of us, but we do have to ensure we have sufficient free space in our freezer for the food due to the large quantities you have to buy.
We generally find their meat (particularly the steak mince and steak burgers) to be very good. I am also addicted to the vegetable crisps!MFIT No. 810 -
I like their meat and fish, it's very good quality (although I found their burgers rather fatty). I find it's very good for things that keep, like cooking oil, tea bags and laundry powder. Also the bed linen is very good quality - hotel grade.
I've never needed to return anything, but I have heard about the excellent returns policy.
There are only two of us, but I take my mum along for the outing - she's a pensioner and really appreciates the chance to split some purchases with me. My in laws have our 'second' card, they're OAPs too.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -

I haven't tried there lamb steaks, must try them. It just I heard a 2 interesting stories that made me laugh and how people are abusing the system.
1) Someone returns a 7 year old television given a full refund.
2) someone returns a mostly drunck bottle of wine for a full refund.
Now that what I call service !!!0 -
I am another devotee of costco. Their returns policy is fantastic and we have used it a couple of times - including a wine cooler which starter to lose efficiency after 9 months - back to costco (without box or receipt) and full cash refund given. Their service and quality is fantastic. We always get household products (usually on their passport deals), yoghurt (their greek one is sooo good but usually go for the bio one - better for the waistline!) and meat and fish. Worth every penny in the membership. The Best Things in Life Are Free0

I go to costco every other month to stock up on such things as soap powder etc. On Friday I also bought (for my hubbie for xmas) a Darth Tater potato head, it was an extra large one with all three star wars heads inside, with vat cost around 13.00 whereas each 'tater' rrp for £10 each.
Don't know if it was mega bargin but I've never seen them anywhere else.
PS My first posting - so treat me kind!0
