Just apply for all charges - what's the worst that can happen???
The worst that can happen is they will throw the whole case out.0 -
Hi there. Can anyone tell me if the same rules apply to a business account?
Can you claim back the bank charges if the account is a business account?
Thanks,

the situation:
a couple of years ago my mates business was going through a rough patch as a result it ended up with the bank whacking on charges left, right and centre. these charges were much the same as everybody else's charges on this website i.e. returned DD, exceeding OD and charges for honoring cheques guaranteed with a switch card.

Hi there,
I have a very small business (sole trader) and I joined the Bank of Scotland Business Banking in April 2004. I kept within their guidelines and operated the account prudently without incourring any charges (and paying for atm withdrawls and writing cheques) opting to use their postal service and internet options.
Recently the Bank of Scotland decided to start charging £15 a month if you have less that £5000 in the Business account at any one time, which for me was useless, as I usually only have around £700 - £1000 in the account at any one time.
I tried to change to Abbey before BoS started charging me - but it took longer than I expected and have been charged £45 (January, February and a third charge in February, for I don't know why). Can I claim these charges back from them. I also have a Visa card with Halifax, part of their group.
My new Abbey Business account is now set up and I have received today a letter from BoS informing me that the account is cancelled, but they have £45 of my money which I am annoyed about.
Can anyone advise me ?
Regards

I wonder if anyone could help i am claiming as a Ltd Company from the Yorkshire Bank
I requested a list of my bank charges as suggested more too save time looking through old statements
I got a call from my local branch suggesting that they charge £15 per statement becuase i am a business as they are not bound by the data protection act for Ltd companies
Is this just a stalling tactic
And would anyone help in the best way of going forward
They have credited my account with the ten pounds i had posted too them

Does anyone know if businesses have an equal chance as consumers for claiming back these extortionate charges?0
