apple_muncher said:Enjoy setting some goals! I loved paying down the mortgage!!!!!!!
i have finally applied for a bluel1ght card so can hopefully access some discounts going forward. Think I'm a little traumatised after ds spending £32 on a pair of trainers (using his birthday money). I am used to bundles, not expensive single items!! 😂
I may have said this before but I am definitely giving up wine. Had a could of glasses on Friday big and just felt exhausted and not right yesterday. Possibly worth it if you've had a big night but certainly not because you've had a glass of wine to watch tv sitting on the sofa!! Thankfully Bail3ys doesn't have the same effect and although I like gin I don't tend to buy it! It also rained all day yesterday too which doesn't help with motivation levels.
So, this morning the washing machine is on with another load ready, I have a shopping list ready for when HB opens and we are planning a walk for later. Will make another mortgage OP on Thursday so am hoping the account remains healthy throughout the week! The main thing I'm tracking at the moment is how much is left on M2 when M1 ends in 7 years. The goal is to get that down so both mortgages end together. The dream would be to get rid of M2 and then go back to overpaying M1 but I'm not sure how feasible that is!Happy Sunday everyone, hope you've got lovely sunshine too.October spends

thanks Debtfree, they do make a difference. My sister is hoping to buy a house soon and I shall be having the 'overpayments chat' with her!Had a strange week hence the lack of posting. We really are living in very strange times and I've had a wobble and a little cry this week. Am feeling ok now but sometimes it really gets to you doesn't it.Have made a couple of Tilly tidies but nothing huge as unsure of income over the next couple of weeks. However, we have enough so am very grateful we don't live above or even 'to our means'.Well I guess that's my update. Hoping for normal service to resume shortly!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

Aw Cath, yes really weird times. I feel its more strange as we (the public) have done this once before and it doesn't seem to be having the same effect on the masses. It's almost like some people have been buffered into "it won't happen to us" lets carry on!! Maybe this steep rise and lock downs will get a few messages across. Keep safe

I hope you are feeling a bit better now Cath, I think it would be a miracle if we didn’t get affected by all this, especially since numbers are shooting up again and it feels like we are back to square one, hang in there xMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Wobbling over here too. Just so over it all but we aren’t yet are we. Hate the uncertainty. Hate the restrictions on daily life.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hi Cath,
I am also thinking of setting some end of year goals. Or maybe I should look at the ones I set in January and see if I can push them forward a bit before the end of the year!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k4 -
Strange times aren't they. We are back in lockdown again this weekend and things we would have normally enjoyed (meeting friends for dog walks) can no longer happen.
Hoping for a productive few weekends now perhaps making over some furniture. I have the chalk paint in ready so just need some motivation and it will get done. Dh working all weekend so may make a start.
Another top up shop today and we were due dog food, laundry items etc which sent spends up a bit which blew a mini challenge I set. However, there's money left in the account and it's almost payday.I also finally started christm@s shopping yesterday after being panicked into it. I was looking online for pyjamas and everything was out of stock. A main item now bought for dd which was easy enough as she has repeatedly sent me the am@zon link. I'd been watching the price but for the sake of a few £'s it wasn't worth the stress of potentially not being able to get it.I still need to set some end of year goals. Nothing major as would rather achieve them than feel disappointment but it absolutely needs to include a month or two of mortgage reduction!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5 -
It's almost the weekend! Although it will all be spent at home for us I'm determined to find the positives. I've felt like I've not been at all productive in recent weeks and have felt in limbo much of the time. So I have made myself a list of short term goals, nothing too taxing or unachievable.
Payday tomorrow so need to do the money shuffle, am intending to open a n@tionwide bond with £100 (Leftover money from last payday) and have transferred that ready. Will make an OP of around £100 (Also leftover money!) which will knock another month off.Over the weekend I plan to start painting Dd bedroom furniture, she wants various things for her room for Christmas so can perhaps incorporate a bedroom makeover into her Christmas presents. I've got some chalk paint in ready to paint her furniture, just need to check I've got sandpaper too. We also
need new carpet in two of the bedrooms but I can't see how it's possible to clear both rooms on the same day!Really need to make a start on some Christmas planning, don't intent to go bad and spend a fortune but also want it to be memorable as it's going to be a strange one this year!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4
