Thanks newgirly and mfd.
Well, the hanging basket did get watered but not straight away as I forgot!
Today has been a normalish Saturday, house cleaned (both bathrooms, lounge, kitchen and utility). Bedrooms are ok so will last another day. Dh and Ds sorted through his clothes and got rid of things that were too small or he completely refuses to wear. Have a bagful ready to
hand down to cousins when we are able to.
Overpaid 20p from tcb then noticed £13.25 from current account Cashback so sent that too. Also paid £500 off holiday balance cc, am trying to stooze so can keep other holiday funds in PB just in case a refund is made to cc in the likelihood the holiday is cancelled. I'm not
holding our much hope
of being able to travel anywhere in the next couple of months.Have watched less news today ( which has been good for me) and almost forgot about the whole thing whilst watching a film. I've also read a little but struggling with this book, read too much of it to give up on it now though. I know they say life is too short to read books you don't enjoy but as it comes so highly recommended I'm starting to think it's because I'm not reading often and for long enough.Tomorrow's plans will be another dog walk, more cleaning, hopefully some arty creative stuff with the children and one day closer to life getting back to how it was.March spendsSupermarket £324.01Fuel £119June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!3 -
Well I mostly forgot about the whole CV thing over the weekend and it felt nice to be distracted by normal life.Changed all the beds yesterday and even ironed, this is where I wished the children still had single beds as 3 lots of doubles is hard work!
dh cut the lawns whilst I walked the dog. Found some grass seed in the shed so will put some of that down when we are due some rain. Found the expensive garden centre have an offer on their plants to will order later or tomorrow when I have a bit more time. I have a feeling we will be in this current situation for a while so would like to keep our home/garden as enjoyable as possible.
Payday for Dh today, explained my cc stoozing plans to him yesterday (he says it made sense to him), 42p Tilly tidy today.Let's see what this week brings.....June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5 -
I agree with the house / garden thought Cath, we did a plant order which I wouldn't normally do at all, but if we are stuck here, then I'd like to spend as much time in the garden as we can.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Yeah it'd be nice to be surrounded by pretty flowers etc. Not placed my order yet as still debating. My sweet peas however are sprouting so brought the basket downstairs to avoid neglect. It's now on the kitchen windowsill where I hope it will thrive until I can hang it out.£5 amaz0n voucher received yesterday so topped up account. 90p Tilly tidy today which was the last overpayment for March. It's been a surreal month but we have plodded on.March totals
overpayments £30.52 (from free money)
supermarket £324.01
fuel £119
Let's see what April brings for us all.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4 -
Hi Cath, I think the keeping the garden nice is a good idea if you can, I’m going to see if there is anywhere near that delivers and is not too expensive. How do you grocery spends compare? Mine have been through the roof ordering unusual items from amazon , like 3kg of nutell@ 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2

Still haven't ordered anything Newgirly but do need to get on top of it as one local garden centre has now run out. I've also seen a lot in the media about how many plants will be disposed of from nurseries. I think I may actually order some planters to hang from the fence and hope the puppy isn't too interested in them.
re: the food shopping, I think it's increased a lot due to the current situation. We have had to buy what's available, use local shop more and we even had jojoba scented toilet roll at one point as that's all that was left. I don't want to know what premium we paid for scented loo roll!!!
Checked accounts yesterday and sent another £300 to cc to cover most of last months spends which had been stoozed. I don't anticipate us spending much money this month. Food shopping is easier now there are rules in place and very little fuel is being used.I can't believe it's officially Easter holidays next week!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4 -
Such a shame re the garden centres especially when people are keen to spend so much time in their gardens!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

It is isn't it, I'm keen to support local business but one has temporarily suspended their delivery service and others aren't offering it. The large garden centre does have some good offers though and the plants are of a really good quality.Disappointed to not win on PB again. I have money sitting there I need to pay off holiday balance but am worried that If we then get a cc refund when it's cancelled I'll just have a cc very much in credit which is of no use! Have stoozed as much as possibly to minimise interest in the meantime.
dh did a food shop yesterday, am grateful that although it's 'one in, one out' this does mean there is sufficient stock on the shelves and we can buy our usual items. Ever grateful that it's Dh that goes and not me as I don't like shopping at the best of times!Hoping to do some jobs in the garden and those niggly inside cleaning jobs that don't always get done. I think it's time for a list as it's going to be a whole family effort!

I have a list. The only category (there are 4) that has nothing crossed off it is the inside-the-house-jobs!
