Thanks Vix, not 'as' tired today. Housework should be happening debtfree but the house is a little upside down as Carpets being cleaned tomorrow. I just need to hoover lounge and bedroom and Dh will move the sofa out tomorrow and hopefully hoover underneath it! Am fully expecting to arrive home from work tomorrow to chaos as they are not being done until late afternoon. Will definitely be worth it, the bedroom one is pretty old and the lounge one has been down for about 4 years. It's more the disruption rather than the cost that puts me off new ones.£1 Tilly tidy simply to tidy up the account, nothing too drastic as it's a tight month! No food spends which is helping with the overall goal too. It's almost payday for Dh and account cash back should land in the account tomorrow which will be overpaid.
It's been a slow month trying to achieve mortgage freedom.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6 -
Well I did arrive to chaos but it's been worth it. £45 well spent on the carpet and clean and we've made some alterations to the room layouts. DD's room is re-arranged and she has a lot more floor space now. It will just be a bonus if she keeps it tidy now!
payday for Dh tomorrow so I have sent £700 to premium bonds and a 13p Tilly tidy. I may have to 'borrow' money from the food/fuel account at some point but can replace when child benefit lands. At least it's a slightly shorter month this month so payday will round quicker!Food shop needed tomorrow, hopefully we can remain under £250 for the month.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6 -
I always think of February as the shorter month, but doh, it's not is it!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Well I think I will be spending our free extra day nursing a puppy and Ds. Puppy has been neutered and Ds complaining of headache, cough and generally feeling unwell. It's not like him and he even still stands/fidgets whilst watching tv but is currently on the sofa under a blanket watching tv.Dh has done a food shop, somehow spent a lot! £45 may be a top up shop to some people but as we don't do many bigger shops anymore it surprises me. However monthly spends are in budget. We have a free morning tomorrow as football is cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch and I can't anything drying out ready for Sunday's game either.
Am off out for afternoon tea tomorrow and treating my mum.
its in a beautiful hotel with stunning gardens so it will be a real shame if it's stormy as forecast. Just need to pop out in the morning for some table decorations and not get distracted buying things for the house!February spends

I spent £44 in aldee today, and felt that it was a biiiiiiig shop! However, I also spent £30+ in sainz on gf/df for dd, but you get so little for your money that it never feels like much!Hope ds and pup get better quickly.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Thanks Apple,
pup will be much happier once he loses the cone!Re: shopping bills, it definitely makes you more aware when you don't usually do a 'big' shop doesn't it. Don't think psychologically I could do a £70 shop even if it was for 2 weeks worth of shopping!
Yesterdays shopping went on the cc (stoozing) so I've transferred the funds and paid it off. Have 'most' of the money for the holiday sitting in premium bonds ready to pay once bill is generated. If I can get a months worth of PB entries out of it then it will be worth it.
dh pension has taken a bit of a tumble so should try and find some money to buy whilst costs are low. Easier said than done but we may be able to shuffle something. Have a regular saver maturing tomorrow so hopefully on Monday I can move those funds. Sadly there aren't any decent savings accounts around anymore.
Ds not great, woke me about 5:30, checked him temp and it was 39 but has come
down to about 38 with ibuprofen. He's very rarely ill (probably feels like this every few years!) so he's not impressed but Netflix and cuddles are helping.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6 -
Hope ds is better today and the cone doesn't last longer on the other one!Can I ask about putting money in and out of PB. Is it straightforward? - we have some in there just a small amount but often have 'savings I that won't be spent until later in the year and it would be good for it to possibly do something thanks to the rubbish savings rate, so PB would be an option.5

We have some money in PB and we have won nearly every month so far. I'd put more in if we had it!
Hope DS feels better, I've the same here. He's been up and down temp wise for 36 hours now - up to 103 in the night. Coughing, sniffling but not really a full blown cold.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
