Am not feeling very MSE, very few overpayments and spending too much. Spent another £6 last night on 3bay on new door handles for the upcycled wardrobe. I've put a 3rd coat on this morning (not sure it needed it but will help with the finish) and it's looking fab. Will put drawers back in once it's dry and sort the clothes.I do need to clean the shower room but it's at the back of the house and I'm expecting a delivery before lunch I don't want to miss. Fingers crossed that arrives soon and I can get on with my jobs. I do really want to paint the kitchen tiles but will put the rest of the house back together first!CB has landed and will snooze supermarket spends until Friday.Am going to sit with a coffee for a bit now (natural break in jobs) and catch up with Madvix diary (am about halfway through!)June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!8

Wardrobes look fab and if I can upcycle then anyone can. The kitchen tiles are my next project and they're currently creat and brown (kitchen units are cream with wood effect tops) but I'm hoping a pale grey will look better and match the rest of the room. First coat is on and I've walked the dog for half an hour whilst it dries. Just having a coffee and a catch up on here and I'll do the second coat. Ideally I'd like it finished before Dh comes home as the kitchen is chaos and he's having a stressful day in work. Dog booked in for a full groom later so that will be another £25 spent, thankfully it is payday Friday! Account just about in credit due to stoozing and there will be some leftover in food/fuel account which may offset some of my household spends in recent weeks.£1.87 requested from tcb and overpaid. Had more payable when I checked and then it increased again (we are talking pennies) so have 44p payable but can't request it just yet (24 hour rule).Back to fuelling my body with healthy food, eating rubbish really shows up in my skin and levels of fatigue. Looking forward to getting my energy and glow back.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

I hear you on the rubbish, I have been dreadful the last few weeks. Also I am the same with paint prep, just want to get on with it!

thanks debtfree, I am pleased with them. I've done the kitchen tiles today and they look fab. Look so clean and fresh and it also means I've given the kitchen a deep clean as I had to move everything. It was all going well until I took a coffee break. I had the paint tin on a towel on the worktop which the puppy pulled down! Manage to clean up the spilled paint and wipe down the units then somehow noticed it had also splashed all over the ceiling! Have managed to clean it off and am focusing on the positives that I've also touched up some of the white paint needed in kitchen whilst also repainting part of the ceiling! Hopefully will just need one more coat tomorrow.
Puppy has had his first proper groom and looks so young again! He also smells much less doggy and it was 10% off!
44p requested from tcb and cashed out £2 on a survey site which I've overpaid.Spends include £30 fuel for Dh and £2 on eggs (fresh ones sold at a local store).
A lack of torrential rain this afternoon has also meant that I've really noticed how much the evenings are drawing out. Am now looking forward to a little bit of sunshine and warmth.

Hi Cath! It is definitely getting lighter in the evenings... I find I’m surprised when Mr MV gets home in daylight!
Whoops to the puppy/paint situation, but it sounds like it worked out in the end! did he get paint on him?

You suddenly notice don't you madvix, ds will be pleased as means he can play out for a little bit after school. Thankfully puppy escaped being upcycled with the paint as that would have been interesting for the groomer he was booked with that afternoon. Haven't got around to doing another coat on the patch on the ceiling but one coat should do it.Payday for me today so money shuffled and wow it's going to be impossible tight this month. Had allocated £700 towards holiday balance with the rest being stoozed over the next month or two. However on top of that we have such an expensive month. Extras currently include:
- £48 towards a present for mum's 60th
- £15 towards cake (cost split between siblings as above)
- £45 on carpet clean
- £160 on dog neutering next week
- £50 budgeted for meal out for mum's birthday
- £30 haircut for dd and me
- £40 on afternoon tea
Some of this can be stoozed on the cc until next month but I don't really want to be in the same position payday next month. So like last month (it didn't happen) we need to be frugal! We can claw some back by reducing food spends (had £75 left in the budget this month). So far this morning, despite not waking until 8:30am I have done a load of washing, changed a light bulb and sorted the banking. I just need to move some canvas pictures (hope the c0mmand strips last the move) as having some new shelves put up later. Fingers crossed my 3bay order arrives to complete the look, am blaming the courier as it's over 10 days since I ordered and paid.Right, best sort this washing and move these pictures, definitely playing catch up this morning and still feel like I am on a 'go slow'.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!7 -
Nice work on the painting. I’m looking forward to the lighter nights too, it makes such a difference doesn’t it?Hope you managed to get stuff done yesterday that you wanted to.6

Thanks PF, it definitely does and it's nice to feel like there is some of the day left at the end of the working day.Shelves and mirrors are up but the decorations I ordered to go on them don't fit so have found another spot for them. The shelves are narrow so will have to keep a lookout for plants/candles that will fit.On a go slow this morning complete with fuzzy head. Had a couple of glasses of wine for the first time in 2 months. It was a very nice pin0t grigi0 but definitely not worth the headache so will go back to my soft drinks. Not much planned this weekend, am just making the most of the slower pace as I've been off all week too. I do think a dog walk is needed to clear my head though!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

Sounds like a productive half term! Much more than mine in one sense as my DD has moved into a rented house so I have spent most of the week helping her rather than doing the 1001 things that I needed to do at home!NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

It's funny how we can find time to help others completely forgetting our own to do lists. Hope she's in and settled.
It's a quiet Sunday morning here so far, Dh is in work, dd slept at my mums so is just me and ds. As long as he has a steadily supply of food he's pretty quiet. I think his food intake is going into growth as he's shooting up in height but remains super slim.I do need to pop out this morning to h0me bargains and try and stick to my list although it's the worst shop to try and do that! I avoided going out yesterday to save money but can't put it off any longer. Haircuts came in £5 under budget which makes a slight dent in the expenses total. We need all the help we can get this month!Oh, in MFW news I've opened a lifetime ISA today. Am sure I also had an email saying I would get a £5 @mazon voucher so will see if that arrives. Wish we could have done one for Dh as he's 6 years older than me but he's already the wrong side of 40!February spends
