Also managed to squeeze in a visit to the charity shop and got 8 new (to me) books for £2. I really do have a lot of books to get through now!

Well that's January over. I've totalled up our food spends and I'm genuinely shocked to the point I think I've got it wrong as we've never spent that much in the supermarket. I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on it this month.

The plan is to keep spends low over the next couple of weeks especially if we need to stooze a little between accounts. I'm not even sure how many tilly tidies will be possible but we really need to prioritise paying for the holiday over the next couple of months as don't usually book so close to going. It's perfectly do-able but I will miss overpaying!

    January totals:

    Supermarket £341.21
    Fuel £139.51
    Mortgage 2 OP's £168.97 (knocked 2 months off) :T

Only just sitting down for the day. Had a mini lay in, only got up as needed to see to the puppy as Dh had gone into work but enjoyed the extra couple of hours I get compared to in the week.

Enjoyed an hour long walk with the dog, apart from when his recall was shocking! Will make sure to use what finally worked straight away next tome!!

Have been batch cooking since, have a vegetable soup for lunches and Thai vegetable green curry for dinners. Have let my nutrition slip the last couple of days and trying to get back into being really good but allowing occasional treats. I'm definitely an all or nothing person though! Have prepped Sunday dinner for Dh and the children and hopefully there will be enough for leftovers tomorrow. Really hoping to keep food spends much lower this month and so far we have a NSD.

Have various appointments this week I mustn't forget, dentist, dog groomer, vets etc.

Ds has a couple of friends over to play so I'm hoping for a quietish 20 minutes with a coffee and my book. We shall see how long it lasts!

I still think I've made a calculation error Newgirly, I could have shopped in Marks all month for that!

I did Apple, couple of chapter to go and then I have the dilemma of choosing what to read next.

Can't believe it's the 3rd of the month already. First small top up shop today £9.67 so our daily spend isn't too bad at all so far. Another £10 spent at groomers on a bath and a trim, he smells lovely after a spritz or two of doggy perfume.

Homework done with the children which wasn't too painful, getting them to sit down to do it is usually the battle but all went smoothly this evening!

£14 spent on a school trip for dd and I've 'borrowed' some money from food account which I will transfer back when cb lands in 2 weeks. It's a perfectly manageable amount as long as I don't have too many annual
Leave days which involve shopping for bits and pieces for the house. The shelves I bought last week do look fab though so definitely worth the money.

    February spends

    Supermarket £9.67
    Fuel £30

A quiet day on this mortgage free journey. Minimal spends as just needed to top up school lunch money account (more expected tomorrow) and no other food spends! Also found £1.33 payable in tcb so have requested and overpaid that.

I do have the dilemma of finishing my book (which was excellent) and not knowing which one to choose next.

Not much to report but we are yet another day closer to mortgage freedom.

    Definitely Apple.

Our efforts today include sticking to the list for a top up shop £7.10 spent. Did however spend £27 on kennel cough vaccine for puppy and have paperwork ready to send to home boarder

It's cold here this evening so hearing went on for an extra hour and I'm debating an early night as had a lingering headache since getting home and figure that extra sleep can only help.

Made a soup after work as had run out of my previous batch cooked supplies. Only needed to buy carrots and lentils and have enough soup for a few days. Have once portion of curry left but have supplies to make it again.

    Consistent efforts continue....
