Thanks debtfree
Yesterday ended up being a bit spendy. Collected holiday tickets and bought some euros whilst there. Also needed to buy a new lawnmower and ended up spending £100 but it did come with a free strimmer which we also needed. £5 voucher received in @rgos due to the promotion but I was a bit annoyed as we spent £99.99 I'm sure they usually have packs of sweets by the till which they had moved. It would have been worth buying one for the £10 voucher. I did park away from town and walk in though to save on parking.
Have been super busy today and am shattered so may be repeating yesterday's afternoon nap! DH took dd to her football tournament so DS and I have done the garden, so both lawns done which wasn't easy had they hadn't been done for so long! Cleaned and hoovered my car and due to how long it took I actually think it's worth paying £15 for it to be done locally as it still needs washing! Then took ds to the park and played football so we have both had a fun morning
Bank accounts looking ok and dh and I are on a strict £20 spending budget between now and Friday! Mini food plan done and we only need fruit and milk to keep us going.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I'm dreading mine outgrowing junior sizes. They are both tall with big feet so am sure it won't be too long. Gosh your choices are limited and expensive I expect?
Are the kids wearing their lovely new football kits? (OH has learned that I will have nothing to do with his red NW team and he has to do the laundry if he want the shirts washed. The joys of a football rivalry.)0 -
DD is nearly 9 and a size 3 so a little behind you at that age. I'm a 7 myself and always wanted smaller feet! Football kits are getting a lot of wear and will be coming on holiday with us. That should keep the packing down! DH has mentioned about going to Barcelona for the day again as we did an organised trip in May but obviously didn't see a lot of the city. Think it's only 9 euros each on the train so not too bad and definitely worth the trip.
Spent much of the £20 budget on wine yesterday! Just under £17 in total spent at @ldi but I've had a NSD today. DH bought the children ice-creams at a local park from his spends today. He did overtime then took them out and I had yet another daytime nap!

Have managed another NSD today and accounts looking fairly healthy with a credit expected next week. Collected a free booster car seat off fb and will give away the old seat to pay it forward.
Working tomorrow so should be a NSD so the £20 budget may actually be possible!
It's felt really autumnal here today and if I'm honest I think I'm ready for it! Spring is definitely my favourite season but Autumn comes a close secondJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I'm with you... love Autumn.... as sad as I am to wave goodbye to the warmer days, it's lovely to see the leaves already starting to turn and I'm looking forward to Autumn clothes, boots and coats0

I'm with you, I love Autumn.
Bonfire night is normally my favourite, although we have the cat now and she may not love the fireworks.

Lots of Autumn fans here to keep me company
Today has been fairly productive and have ventured into town as DH wanted new trainers and I wanted to get a P@ndora charm for my sister's 21st. DD who is not at all girly took a shine to them so not sure if they will appear on her birthday/Christmas list. Popped into M&S to get a nice food for dinner for DH (his birthday today) and also found some reduced profiteroles which went down well! Used vouchers for these and we all enjoyed the food
Managed to sort out some work admin which will avoid me losing about £85 worth of expenses so that was a relief. Will put that money to good use on payday.
Currently trying to use up what's in the fridge so have made another batch of roasted veg (courgette from the garden). We have done really well with one plant (one died shortly after I planted it) so will definitely keep growing them each year. Watched bake off with the children and DS was very amused to see courgette as a cake ingredient.
Bank accounts looking healthy which makes goal setting easier. Will be back with some goals (inspired by Newgirly).
Haircuts for the children tomorrow but fingers crossed no other spending!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
We had an American family living next to us years ago who made us a courgette cake once, it was very tasty. Maybe something to try to use those courgettes up?

I've made chocolate courgette cake quite a few times - and don't tell people until after they've eaten it!
BNS works well instead of carrots for carrot-cake style muffins, too
