Great suggestions full of creative play. There is so much enjoyment in the simple things and when we weer at the beach we played noughts and crosses in the sand.

We have finally had a dry day so have line dried two loads of washing (one lot has been out since yesterday) and took the children to a free football event again. DS is too young to join in but watched very patiently although did question why he couldn't play when he was bigger than the other children!

Quick @ldi shop done and spent just under £40. Thankfully wasn't too busy as had both children with me.
Also managed to fix a faulty fitbit so not a bad old day.

Very low spend due to the weather! Had a day out planned and headed to an event at a local NT property intending to go to a nearby fun day in the afternoon. Hadn't been out long when it started to thunder and hail! Only spends were £2 on a dozen eggs on the way home! Our local garage owner owns chickens and the eggs are delicious!

Spends tomorrow will be on a birthday present for a party both children have been invited to which means we have 2.5 hours child free!

No money making happening but a few diaries are inspiring me to 3bay as have a few items that might sell. That is a task for in the week as I don't have the motivation to do it any sooner!!

Who stole my energy? Definitely a sofa day today made easier in that the children have been to a party. DH has just gone to pick them up.

Saw on MSE about 8ky VIP's so have looked into it and managed to get 8ky Go for free (a recent telephone call to review deal had given me it for half price so will check bill is amended). That's a saving of £2.50 a month. Also qualified for a free buy and keep movie so chose Beauty and the Beast. How could I not, I love the film and will use the dvd as a birthday present for dd as fortunately she loves it too. Discussed with dh about having her birthday party at home this year and going to the park to pay football (she had a football party last year) and I think they will all have as much fun without the expense. Will do buffet and party bags so it still feels like a proper party.

    50p on y0ugov today.

Love the party idea :) sounds like something she will love and probably remember!

I also got the sky VIP movie and am still deliberating on what to buy! :)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • We've chosen Sully as then I can use the DVD as a birthday or Christmas gift for my grandad! Sadly we don't qualify for any of the other categories because I cancel the subscription annually and start a new one on a 50% offer if the retention deal isn't good enough!

Thanks for the $ky VIP tip. I'd missed that. Just logged in and got the same deal as you on buy and keep. Think I'll get b&b too. Good 5 minutes work. Hope you find your energy. May have gone in holibobs with mine in search of sunshine :rotfl:

Hi KK, MrsP and PF, glad you all managed to get something :)

Today I really need to sort out a new energy deal. We are on b-g@s standard tariff and I've spotted we have a daily charge on 51.5p a day. I thought they'd got rid of daily charges a long time ago? Not sure who to go with as they all seem to offer a low direct debit rate and then you get in arrears so it has to go up! Have tried Sains energy in the past so might look into what switching deals are out there through tcb.

Children are at a football camp all week so I am supposed to be cleaning! I've got z0flora in the sink so have made a start at least!

If you put your actual usage in (will be on your bill) and get a fixed price deal the DD shouldn't go up.

Thnaks for the $ky tip will have a look.
  • Last time I switched, every one I saw had a daily standing charge. Definitely worth looking at previous bills for annual usage to get an accurate switch comparison. One thing to be aware of is that some allow you to do a variable monthly direct debit but others insist it is fixed. I prefer variable so I know what I'm using but E0N were the cheapest so went with them. Not looking forward to any end of year adjustment so might get the calculator out when I do my monthly readings and work it out myself!
