That must have been difficult ATB, it does make us re-consider what we keep hold of though doesn't it.

Not a lot happening here but m*s have credited our cards so now have £40 to spend there. May use this for a food shop at at least a dine in deal when it's on.

Last of the bank account funds used for piano lessons so just need a NSD tomorrow to see us through to Friday - easy!

We have an extension update! Roof trusses arrived today and joiners are due tomorrow. Windows going in end of next week so assume roof tiles also going on in with the big 'knockthrough' scheduled for the end of the month. The build hasn't progressed since the week before Christmas so we're really excited about this. My plan for it to be done by the end of March definitely remains on schedule.

Plan to catch up with diaries later now I've finally watched Sherlock!

  • Don't know how far you are from an M&S but you can get some pretty good deals on their food if you go towards the end of a Sunday. (We used to have one down the road and if either OH or I were off we'd walk up at 3:30pm on a Sunday). You can really stretch a gift card!

Fingers crossed that the joiners are over tomorrow. :)

We are not too far Michelle, I needed to drop off some blood samples then we popped to m*s and they had started reducing stuff which was great. Got reduced grapes, plums, stir fry mix and yoghurts. Also picked up two dine in deals so that's the weekend wine taken care of. Had enough on prepaid cards to pay for it so am treating it as a NSD.

Joiners have made amazing progress today! All the roof trusses are on so I think they may finish tomorrow ready for the tilers. Was lovely to see such good progress today. Still feeling exhausted despite working reduced hours, just don't feel myself and am desperate to completely get over this illness!

  • Sounds great. :D We went in last weekend and OH lamented that we can't do all of our shopping there. (The same OH that actually considered the £90/month David Lloyd gym membership). I promised that we can when the mortgage is gone.

Hooray! How long til it's all done do they reckon?

I'd buy far too many treats if we shopped there all the time. I got a millionaire and a billionaire dessert! Not sure that much indulgence was necessary! :rotfl:

Dh thinks his wages error might be due to him working a bank holiday at Christmas (only 2 hours but the they cancelled his holiday that day). I'll continue figures tomorrow when I've had more sleep. Was awake for 3 hours again last night, it must be working related.

Joined came round yesterday to see about boarding the loft. There's no chance as there's insulation, no room and pipes everywhere! I'm wondering if they could put a hatch in the extension but from looking at the roof today there doesn't look like there's any room there either. The positives are we have saved £250 and we will never have a loft that needs decluttering or emptying.

The extension was meant to take 3 months so would have completed by now allowing for the break for Christmas. I'm hoping were about a month from completion. Joiners appear to have finished the roof so we have the tiles going on next week, windows going in and then knock through following week. Maybe another month to do shower room, utility room, electrics, plastering and joinery? I'd be happy if dd bedroom was decorated and furnished by the end of March. More than anything I want the scaffolding down now, half of it is in next doors garden and it's getting on my nerves :D

Half of the money shuffle done, I don't how some of you have lots of bank accounts, it's enough work shuffling it around my 3 different banks and then directing funds where they need to go.

Only meant to do a quick update, waiting for dh to get home with DD from football then we will be opening the wine!

I am thank you NG, still get lung pain and fatigue but am steadily working my hours back up to full-time over the next 3 weeks.

Well the wine got opened, we watched half a film and i fell asleep at 9 06pm (accuracy due to my new fitbit!) Am tracking my own macros and even managed to fit in half an individual M*S dessert pot.

Planning to finalky get out to a NT place today.

  • I loved Sherlock but thought it a bit let down by the ending.
Glad you are on the mend Cath.
