Thanks Alex and KC. I am hopeless at taking my own advice. Had it confirmed yesterday that last weeks x-ray confirms I've had pneumonia. I was planning on returning to work next week but as encouraged by so many people am going to take another week to fully recover. How did I get pneumonia!?!?
Another £18.82 paid off cc, this was a combination of t3sco interest (dh still to come) and savings of £11 on this month's piano lessons. The plan is to keep chipping away at it until payday so the planned repayment can be re-directed to paying the remaining holiday balance. I've never been one to crave sunshine but this is the first time I've really felt I need some sunshine and warmth!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Happy New Year Cath! (I finally made it over here to catch up on your diary) So sorry to hear that you've been ill, poor thing.
Lots of R&R is certainly on the menu for you.
Take it easy and keep your feet up, don't forget to have plenty of cuppa's too.

Thanks courgette debt free and MG. Am not recovering as quick as I'd like but am focusing on feeling 100% again soon.
Found another £90 to pay off cc today (dh t3sco interest and spare from joint account and bills account as payday approaches).
50p on y0ugov , annoyed I'd not checked it earlier as had 3 surveys available and it would only let me complete one.

Hi Cath :hello: managed to find your diary. Sorry you have been so unwell, hope the worst has passed. Will subscribe to follow your journey and learn from someone ahead of me in the extension game if you'll have me;) we're going to CP in 5 weeks - can't wait. DD is off school on the monday after half term so we can maximise our stay there0

Hi PF, thanks for popping in. We've done CP twice now, it's a magical place. Craving warmth and sunshine now though so keep looking at holidays abroad!
GP rang me again yesterday, think she might be worried about me but am super impressed at the ongoing aftercare I am receiving.
Few jobs planned for today before I run out of energy! Two beds stripped and WM on, that's the easy bit. It's drying and re-making the beds that requires slightly more effort! Although not MSE we are planning on getting a TD for the new utility room. Did some measuring the other day and the space is going to be about 12 feet long so definitely need to design it well.
Also need to ring b@rclays again about an old account they are closing and are expecting me to sort out in branch. I also want to check the school holiday dates for this year and get them written into work diary. I plan to be more organised in 2017 and move from being a list writer to an action taker!
Decided yesterday that due to trying to eat myself well and also the fact I've barely moved for over a month to get back into MFP and track my macros again. First day back was okay and I clearly haven't forgotten how to eat well! Trialled out my new spiralliser and convinced dh he would enjoy spirallised veg he wouldn't normally eat. My lovely mum called round with a huge roast dinner for me so I'll bulk that out with some leftover veg and ensure it feeds at least two of us!
Less money saving activity is having to book my car into the garage later this week. I can only describe my brakes as sounding a bit 'crunchy'. I let dh make the phonecall!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Glad to hear re. the aftercare.
Brakes - is there much of a lip on the discs? Check the pads for wear before calling the garage. Brake pads are an easy DIY fix.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
It amazes me that people are getting pneumonia who live in good circumstances - my niece had it a while back, and there's certainly no hardship there (other than commuting! but even then, she gets a seat).
I've never had a TD, but staying at my mum's for a month, and doing such different things from normal, it was a godsend, I can see now why families have them. Glad your mum popped round with a dinner too, hopefully you won't be doing too much.
Take care.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
