Good luck with your goals Muser.
Thanks Alex, we are going to Pineda (Costa Brava). We are going for a week all inclusive but planning to wander into the local town and also go to B@rcelona for the day. We are going in May so hopefully weather be warm but not too hot.
Meter readings done this morning and bg@s want us to reduce DD by £10. I'll leave it as it is though as extension means we are adding a few extra radiators. Speaking of the extension, the builders will be back this week and joiners expected next week to do the roof. The knockthrough is estimated to be in a couple of weeks. :j
Dh has been out to do a quick top up shop so £9.48 soent and car filled up with fuel. We had a delicious roast chicken dinner yesterday so may do another one today.
I've realised that having lists of things to do stresses me out and causes my head to feel very full. (This is both at home and work) soI think my main goal for this year should be to always complete tasks! Otherwise I just end up feeling I'm spinning a lot of plates.
No plans for the rest of the day, will just enjoy the four of us being at home before the madness resumes this week

I enjoyed Barcelona when I went many years ago now, so hope you will. Have you not been abroad before or not been abroad as a family?

I'm looking forward to it Alex. I've been abroad, not seen that many places though. Visited France, Germany and Austria with school and I've been to Turkey, Greece, Spain, Dominican Republic and New York. I really want to see more of the world though and also want the children to have these experiences.
Christmas present shop was helped by all the nectar points we earned during one of their promotional weekends, it was definitely worth all of the visits!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning.
Am off to a bit of a slow start this morning. Still not 100% so am being kind to myself. Am currently watching HUTH with a blanket as the boiler has switched itself off again. It only needs resetting but i'll see it a chance to save a bit on the CH bill! :money:
Financial priority today is to work out how to clear a cc before the 0% ends next month. Should have money leftover from piano lesson budget, still have some christmas money left and the accounts are looking fairly generous. Only have two weeks until payday which means I'll be happy to set a budget for us to live off.
Have been thinking of holidays and weekends away. We have enjoyed 2-3 small trips a year the last couple of years but costs soon add up. DH and I have decided not to book anything else until we go to Spain in May as we may decide we want more sunshine!!
Used some of my christmas money to buy family tr1vial pursuit which we have enjoyed playing the last few days. DD loves it and DS who is 5 somehow managed to win our first game which stirred his interest a little. We had taken the genius edition to CP with us but it was a bit out of our league! :rotfl:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well yesterday was productive financially. Managed to find £467 to pay off cc. This was a combination of using money leftover in food and current account and also used Feb and march c/tax money in advance. There extra in the bills account to cover it for now. £497 to find in the next month and January budget shows this is possible :j
Thought I was on the mend so popped to do a quick food shop. I am absolutely drained now, haven't been outside for that long for a couple of weeks!! No pottering in he house for me today, might read my book though!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Try not to do too much, Cath. You possibly are on the mend but you need to take it one step at a time.
You've just reminded me that I need to find half the council tax bill for the house in April (we pay for the year in advance). Honestly don't know where that is coming from at the moment.2018 totals:

You're doing well! But doing less is the answer to healingI don't pop over here often enough - I can definitely relate to the spinning plates thing, and therefore needing to finish off jobs.
Hope you managed to get more rest today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
