Cath do take it easy. Pleurisy is rotten. I had it a couple of years back. OH came home to find me asleep in the stable of one of the ponies. I had just sat down while the pony ate because I felt too ill to stand and fell asleep. Funny now after the event. Take special care of you so it doesn't progress to something worseMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thank you,im not very good at acknowledging that I am ill and need to rest. Don't plan on doing too much the rest of the day, standing up for too long sends me into a coughing fit!
Dh took ds swimming and he got his stage 2 award and 15m badge. I'm so proud as hes only just turned 5. Dd started her lessons when she was older than him.
Another £40ish spent on christmas presents today (think running total is £150). Managed to get ds a fancy dress costume he wants more than anything. He didn't have much on his list and he keeps asking for it. When I got home I discovered a £5 voucher which annoyed me. Did use. £7 off £50 shop though. Also have £10 for Mr M but would rather spend them on a specific item than just money off a shop.
Saw my mum yesterday and she put my shopping through with hers and refused the money. I've overpaid that £5 off the mortgage which dh thinks is hilarious!)
Managed to make extra mortgage overoayments of £39.96 so far this month.this is made up of....
T3sco interest x 2 £15.58
Selling item on fb £10
Free food! £5
Surplus piano money £10.28
It all definitely helps!
Extension work continues to progress really well, there are usually several workmen here but had one guy here today to finish off he bricks as they have almost finished! Fingers crossed they start the roof on Monday! I'm assuming so as they are working at the weekend to get it finished off.
Plan for this afternoon is to encourage the children to watch 'christmas with the Kr@nks!'June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Hope you feel better soon, Cath xxa penny picker upper. Thank you for the messages. Felt lime I turned a corner yesterday as temp finally went down and the coughing reduced. I'm off to work today so will see how I go. Unluckily for me I spent a days annual leave and he weekend being poorly!
Y0ugov has been generous with surveys this week and I've earned about 400 points, think I am up to 2850 now.
17p Tilly tidy this morning and 50p on y0ugov. Accounts looking OK and there'll be spare cash for extra treats at CP. Impressed with how we have budgeted this month as christmas shopping has been a combination of vouchers/cash and we paid the final £250 off the sofa as well as keeping up with all our other repayments and overpayments. We really are low maintenance!
Hoping builders make good progress this week. The brickwork on extension looks finished but they still need to build above existing extension which is only a small space so in my head that will take half the time! Hopefully dh can speak to the builder as he week goes on to see what the plan is.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
