If I had more time and lived closer to supermarkets, I would do smaller shops as I think they work out better, that said I am fatal in a supermarket for picking up things not on the list

Dh does ours on his way home from work. Got to find some perks of his crazy working hours!

Dh however has sent the present spends spiralling! He bought things not needed but that the children would like and use. Got a big 2nd hand bundle for £40 so I've had to add that to the total. Now £112

Decorator has been here all weekend getting a head start on the job. There has been a lot of prep work to do and there has been great progress! Snug complete apart from glossing and colour is done on the walls in the family area. Just wallpapering and woodwork left to do. The kitchen end is quite a big job but they'll do that when we are in work. It really disrupts the weekend having workmen in he house. Am really looking forward to it all being done by the weekend!

Started watching 'its a wonderful life' yesterday as dh took the children out for a couple of hours.i have meant to watch it for years and can't believe I waited so long. Left it at a crucial moment but will see if I can persuade dh to watch it with me from the beginning :)

Busy working week ahead, house a bit chaotic but can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I also get to see ds in his Nativity his week. Can see December being a rather good month!

    Food. £172.23

    Total £377.30

    Pretty pleased with that!

The weekend is in sight. I feel I'm practically there once I finish work on a Thursday.

    80p tt today and 25p on y0ug0v.

Extension is absolutely flying up! They are up to the first storey already and it's looking great! The project which has descended the whole house into chaos is the decorating! That will be mostly finished today which means we can start to put the rooms back together again. Currently the contents of the kitchen-diner-family area are in my modest lounge!

However, I am focussing on the end result and getting the Christmas tree up at the weekend. Our elves arrived this morning bringing Advent calendars with them which was lots of fun.

Off to watch ds in his Nativity now, hope he spots me in the audience.

    Happy weekend everyone.

We have had a productive weekend, new room completely tidied and christmas tree and some decs are up. Due to the chaos we haven't had a proper family meal together all week so looking forward to that in a bit.

Finally chose a rug for the new room. Had seen one online at m*s, I don't do links but it's the Madeline. We ideally wanted the medium but it's been out of stock for ages so opted for the large. It was £229 but we had £110 on a gift card, have a free mini hamper and £13.36 Cashback has already tracked. We don't do much online shopping so that's a bonus. Decorator has been paid and bill is in for the TV guy. Its a good job the quote we went with for the extension came in well under budget and borrowing!!

    December spends

    Food. £242.89
    Petrol £120

We are having the grey, we have geometric style wallpaper with goose down grey on the walls. It's all come together really well. Gone to white woodwork to instead of wood stain and it looks much fresher.

Dh did a small top up shop yesterday, we needed bread and I wanted cake. Dh also treated himself to ice cream so that was a really unnecessary £4.70 spend! Think we need to stop this!

Realised whilst reading a diary in the early hours (dd woke me and I couldn't get back to sleep) that I need to address our car insurance renewal which is due next week. Our renewal quote is an extra £10 a month! Will start that job after work today.

Weekend has been relaxing and productive, its been much better not having workmen around! I also managed to do some work on my business too.

4 day working week this week too!

It is a lovely shade, might decorate the whole house in it!

Well this week has flown and I've been unwell :( Went to the doctors yesterday and I have pleurisy, the GP thinks I also have pneumonia! Had already booked today off work so no sickness taken, just won't achieve what I set out to!

Have emtpied the christmas presents out of bags and from their hiding places. The children have a few things they want but we'll bulk it out a bit with cheap and practical items. Definitely not buying any plastic tat though!

Have been browsing car insurance quotes, renewal price is in and about £200 too much! Have done a quote for multi-car but it works out cheaper to buy two separate insurances and then we will also get cashback on them both!

Builders are here, we now have scaffolding and second storey is well under way!
