Thanks PM and Muser. Perhaps I shouldn't wait until Christmas! I can be quite negative so this sounds perfect for me.

Managed to reclaim the house this afternoon. Plasterers were here until after lunch. We spent some time this morning at a local farm as they had an event on, the children loved it and we got out in the fresh air for a while. Dh took the children to the park this afternoon so I could clean. I really dislike the way plaster dust sticks to everything. The new snug us still full of furniture and dusty but the new kitchen-diner-family room is so much better. Popped to b*q earlier to look for wallpaoer samples. I'm struggling to find geometric designs so will have to look online.

Hoping tomorrow will be relaxing yet productive. I struggled working 2 days last week and back to my normal fulltime this week!

  • I think sometimes not working your usual hours is worse than working normal hours. I've had no motivation this week to do anything and logged on once! I

Great news about the building work progress.

Great news about the building work progress.

Completely throws your routine doesn't it. I definitely need structure, maybe just not quite the intensity I have from working fulltime in a job I struggle to switch off from.

50pon y0ug0v yesterday, up to £18 on there now. Decided to pay for the TV from house funds as also had the passports to pay for. I also treated myself to a skincare range, extravagant but I did a trial and my skin was transformed.

Announced to dh yesterday we are BOTH having a healthy November. Think it came as a shock to him but I'd considered it for a few days :rotfl: we had got into bad habits of wine on Fridays AND Saturdays. Consideringi managed 3 months with 2 small glasses of wine recently I should be fine :D

Currently have downstairs windows and French doors open to help the plaster dry out. Good job its so mild!

I was hoping to set a budget for the rest of the month and plan November money this morning but off to watch dd at a football match shortly so it will have to wait until later. We also plan to do some batch cooking and have a Sunday roast. My lovely mum has made us an apple pie so that's dessert sorted.

Pumpkin needs carving and we need to top up sweets for potential trick or treaters.

1st of the month again! Will update signature later. Hopefully wiotw figure is falling nicely. haven't actually factored in the new part of mortgage yet as not spent any and hopefully there will be a good chunk leftover from contingency fund.

    85p Tilly tidy.

We need a food shop and even though it would be far more convenient to do a Mr S online shop I have cash to use and don't want to spend at least £40!

Extension progressing today and the footings are being built today :) hopefully see some progress with internal work by the end of the week too. Want to get the house back to normal. It's things like the piano being stuck in the snug with everything else which means dd can't practise and I have nowhere to exercise. First world problems hey.

Sofa being delivered today, hoping they inform me what time otherwise the builders will be taking it in! Just praying it fits through the front door as the back door is inaccessible unless they don't mind standing in a big hole! I have quite a bit to do before work as need to make space for it. Never a relaxing day in this house.

We have laid bricks! Not many but its a start. Hopefully over next two days the room will be ready for decorating. Just received the quote for that and it is a lot more than I thought!

Sofa didnt arrive, they had got confused with our delivery date somehow. Fingers crossed it arrives as planned next week.

£4.17 left in one of the bills account so paid off t3sco card.

This week is absolutely flying by. Life is a bit hectic which isn't helping but crikey time needs to slow down!

Absolutely! We go to CP before Christmas too. As relaxing as it sounds sitting in a lodge in a forest in front of a fire, the days are totally hectic!

What a hectic few days....more on that!

Interior works still not completed, we were told it woukd be ready for decorating a week last Friday. Didn't make it so I was hopeful by last wednesday it woukd be done. Outstanding jobs include moving a pipe, new radiator, joinery work and flooring. I know it will be completely finished by the end of the month but just want to get all random things thàt are stuck in the snug and give it a good clean! I am away in London for a conference midweek so should come home to big changes.

I've also made a decision to launch a new business (not something I thought I would ever do!) So been busy this week attending events and finding my feet!

    Financial news????

47p tilly tidy, 150 points on you got, submitted meter rradings and CP kindly sent us £25 in vouchers to use during our stay.

Current accounts not looking too bad so can hopefully siphon off some money befire payday by setting a mini budget. Dh is really on board with these which helps a lot! Hes also doing OT today, it all helps.
