DFOD I find it a bit patronising. "We police what you feed our kids because you are not fit to feed them treats responsibly, but WE can give your child treats because we are trustworthy".
Sorry for the derail Cath.0 -
Yeah i spoke to his teacher and she was going to keepmam eye from him, he came home from school happier.
Sometimes my two have lacked lunch and I do occasjonally put homemade cake in as they are offered a pudding everyday at school! There's often more sugar in yoghurt based good than 'naughty' treats. Our school seem pretty laid back about it but they don't have a treat day. I'm not aware of any kind of tuck shop either.
Busy day, ds had swimming and a birthday party and dd had two birthday parties. I have barely seen dh all day!
Dh tesco filled up with £3k so looking forward to earning the interest on the two accounts, that will be a mortgage overpayment :j
M*s paperwork arrived today, I've returned dh copy as his new dd will have cleared. I will return mine midweek when all my dd have cleared. I need to remember to ring car tax people as when we set up new dd we had to pay for two months tax.
Passes have arrived for a car sales event we were going to. I thought dh MOT ran out in November so aim was to get a new car by then, on checking I discovered its the end of this month! I have broached dh contributing his share of the bonus to the new car costs (even though I get the new one and he'll have mine :DD )
Relaxing evening planned, dh working overtime tomorrow. I think the lack of sleep is catching up with me. Tomorrows plan is healthy eating and exercise as fallen off that wagon which isn't helping the old energy levels!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I hope everything works out with school.
Never heard of a car sales event before, what sort of car do you want?2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Thanks AlexAlex, teacher reassured me and he seemed much better in himself. He is almost five and very emotionally aware for his age. Imjust glad he didnt keep it bottled up.
Re: the car, It's a VIP event, we have even been sent identity badges! Not in the market for anything fancy, probably just a newish corsa. Event is offering exclusive savings, we shall see.
Fell asleep watching TV, I have been defeated by lack of sleep and a busy day!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Has your son just started in reception then?
Hope everything goes well from here on in.
Re car event: I've never heard of anything like that before.2018 totals:

Yes he's reception, is little K year one now?
Feeling much better after a fairly decent sleep, only disturbed once by Dd. She has started waking in the night for some reason.
9 days to pay day (I feel much happier once we are in single figures), food account looking healthy as our spends are reasonable at the moment. Dh made a vegetable curry yesterday, it was amazing! He discovered we had hardly any curry powder so had to improvise. Great job done. So, September budget needed with a contingency in case we buy a new car!
Relaxing day venturing no further than the park planned, we all need some rest. Housework mostly up to date but some decluttering needed (why is this an endless task?) There are also lots of things not where they should be so need to find a home for everything. I'm aware of Kon Marie principles but considering investing in and reading the book.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Thank you, I'll have a look.we declkutter and I think we are doing okay and then it all seems to grow again!
Spends day yesterday, dh did a good chunk of overtime but we had realised ds did need new shoes after coming home with sore toes this week. Worked out over weekend it was his shoes not his trainers and planned to go to local outlet for new shoes and tie this in with a day out to justify petrol costs. As we are all shattered and I wanted to stay close to home we popped to local cl@rkes. £76 later he has new shoes and trainers! He was wearing size 11 and 11.5 but was measured at an 11.5g!! His new shoes look enormous!!
I fell asleep on the sofa again in the afternoon. Dh woke me to say dinner was ready and I realised he'd sorted all the washing tol,.I felt really guilty especially as he had been working but I must have needed it.
8 days to payday and the fab budget I'd done will not allow for £76 on shoes so some work needed there.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
