What a busy morning! Took children to swimming lessons then a birthday party. Not sure about them but I am worn out now! DH at work doing overtime, I'm glad he had a good break over christmas as he is completely back into the swing of early starts now.
Current accounts checked and not looking particularly brilliant! Have about £20 in current account and £55 in food to last just over 2 weeks. We saved a lot of money the month so anticipated shuffling some back but I am determined to last as many days as we can! Not sure my car going into the garage is going to help!
It is absolutely pouring down here today which is doing nothing for my motivation. Have just seen on Feb something about 40 bags of clutter out over lent? I think this may be what I read watty did on her diary last year.I was going to throw away a little roll of sellotape that came out of a cracker but it will be ideal for an elf antic so will keep it with the elf stuff! Think I will clear sway last of decs and clean snow off windows then have a read of my bookJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Almost back to routine today, both of us worked albeit it opposite each other to manage childcare (saved £35 on holiday club), dh took my car to the garage. £200 later a few issues addressed and it also needs 2 new tyres and electrical work
Small top up shop done of £7.94. I've eaten really healthily and prepped some juices for the morning. Managed to get dh to try one made up of some broccoli and sunflower seeds! Dd is really enjoying inventing recipes then trying them.
Have entered my next half marathon, it is only 6 weeks away so I need to get training! Am training with a friend who also entered so we can motivate each other to run in the dark evenings. :jj
Hoping running again will help clear my head and bring back some positivity!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
6 mile run done yesterday :jj
I have been drinking juices, more water and limiting treats. I don't want to lose weight, just be healthy. I have also managed to reduce caffeine intake to 3 cups of instant coffee a day had a decaff this evening so hoping I can eventually make the switch!
Super busy days at work, so glad it is hump day and the weekend is in sight.hoping the weekend will be a positive one as we have 2 house viewings :j. The ball is rolling with the architect and then this happens!
Operation tidyup is once again upon us! I managed to do upstairs when I got in despite finishing late. Funny what a viewing does for your house work motivation! I plan to get up earlier tomorrow and either clean bathrooms or couple of windows before work.
Now that almost a week has gone the food spends seem more manageable.
January spends :-

Yes, we decided to start architect process as this is our plan B really. Plan was to leave on the market till around easter and once we came off the market be in the position to start the build. Once we made our decision we had a surge in interest! I am letting the universe decide :rotfl:Hi cath, I drink decaff and find d*oue egberts one of the nicer ones
The is newgirly, this was that brand that I acquired from a hotel room. It was actually nice as I usually find de-caff to lack flavour. Think I will get some and try and reduce intake even further.
No finanical news, been fobbed off by BT yet again. Think social media is my next hope!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Sooo busy today. Have had to transfer more money out of savings to balance accounts but savings looking healthy. 13 days to pay day, I will manage much better when we are in single figures!
We have a busy weekend of house viewings, I was cleaning bathroom and utility before work and cleaning snow spray off windows, hoovering and mopping after work. Feel like I haven't really stopped! Looking forward to relaxing a little over the weekend once the viewings are done.
Car going into garage at the weekend so hopeful that doesn't eat into all of our savings!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Quick post from me as probably shouldn't be on here this morning!
Quickly checked accounts and all okay, 2% of balance transfer fee also been refunded so we are £100 better off! Takes us under a milestone too which is very encouraging.
Need to resist fizzy Friday and considering I have had 5 hours sleep that shouldn't be too difficult! Why is it some nights you just can't switch off.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I'm on here at this time too Cath ignoring my children who I really should be getting sorted for school
I can't seem to switch off either & woke early. I hope the car isn't too costly & you get a bit of rest over the weekend
Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
I,ve been like that too since new year, awake until midnight or later when normally kn*ckered by 10.30 , I thought it might be the healthy diet has given me more energy :rotfl:
Do I say good luck with the house viewings? I wish you all they best and that it all goes the way it is meant to beMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
