Sounds like a lovely Christmas Cath, glad you enjoyed lampoons to. Let me know if you find a super cheap nutri bullet, my mum is very selfishly keeping hers and is not fed up with it yet!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Sounds like a lovely quiet christmas. We too had just the three of us. I never go anywhere xmas day and no one comes to us. Its always been like that.
On the subject of room sizes, I looked at houses a couple of years ago and could not believe how spoiled I am with our house. Its a terraced tardis! The rooms are quite big (apart from the kitchen and bathroom) and I had become a room size snob lol The problem with new housing estates is they try adn ram as many houses in as possible. I much prefer old houses with character and memories. My house is 120 years old.MFW 16 No 33

I have a nutribullet that gets very little use and will probably sell it. It is fab I have to admit, but I just don't use it, I use my juicer more!
Glad you had a quiet one, ours was too and it was lovely!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I think the best deal I have found is on one of the shopping channels!
Had to transfer some money from architect fund as current account low after putting money in dd's ISA but realised I hadn't transferred some of the food account money from online shop so I should be able to shuffle that back
Have £152 in food/petrol account so that will be challenging to make it last over 3 weeks! I have saved a lot on petrol not working and neither car has moved for 2 days! We are also entertaining NYE so will need to buy alcohol and nibbles.
Think I have found a way around investing dd's money so will try and sort it out later. I feel bad DS doesn't have a similar investment but they had stopped the trust funds before he was born.
Dh is having a lay in after originally getting up at 5am with DS. It's fine and dry here so think I will go for a run, will clear my head and burn off a couple of mince pies!
Planning more decluttering today, we made great progress yesterday and the charity shop will do very well from it!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
ISA issue not resolved. Will have to ring them this week but once they re-open I am also back in work.
We had a really busy and productive day yesterday. Sorted out a lot of our clothes. D's has fitted wardrobes we don't use effectively so pulled everything out, binned a bit and now have a car load for the charity shop. I found some hanging space for mine and DH's clothes and I have even hung all my hangers the wrong way so I can see which items I never wear!
One Christmas tree taken down and returned to relative who gave it to us when they downsized (they now have more space). Playroom decluttered and toys taken out of boxes and put on storage unit in DS bedroom. I often think they don't play with toys as they don't realise what they have!
We need a small top up shop today, we had chicken Christmas day and used the last of it in a curry. The risotto I had planned was abandoned when I realised what I thought was risotto rice was a bag of lentils!
Also need to return the blender dh got me and buy/order a nutribullet. We also need a job lot of light bulbs so will pop out for these on the way to meet friends.
I also need to do a balance transfer and have been hoping my bank would offer the 1% fee rate they often do. I spotted it this morning so will arrange that later today.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Forgot to mention what a bizarre day it was yesterday. Forced myself out for a 4.25 mile run, saw daffodils had flowered in the local park, came home and hung washing on the line then pulled weeds out of raised bed! DH took the children to the park after that!
So unusual for December!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I got rid of a load of stuff yesterday to the tip and have boot full for charity for tomorrow. Some bits were in the cupboard unopened for a couple of years now outgrown. You're right, they forget they are there.
Only one of my kids has the childrens tax fund, it started after my DD was born.MFW 16 No 33

Hope you manage to sort out the jisa issue. I think it's the initial investment that is on the high side and subsequent contributions can be much smaller.0

Charity shop run done. We went for a walk to a nearby village and spotted their branch was open so took a chance on ours being open when we got back. We haven't been affected by floods but the river there looked wild!
Top up shop done which includes some snacks for NYE. Dh got bags of apples for 24p! We go through 5 or 6 apples a day here so it was a good find! Balance transfer done but couldn't see the offer I saw this morning so am hopeful it will go through at a 1% charge. When we have done offers in the past we have also had cash for home improvements or to pay off overdraft on top of original transfer but those days are behind us
Nutribullet ordered and dh will collect it tomorrow. Will have to prepare a few recipes and see what fruit and veg is on offer. Am really hoping it is something we will use all the time.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
