Resisting the urge to weigh in a day early! Lost almost 3lb last week and have been good again this week and consumed less wine! Also had my star week in the middle which didn't seem to affect weight loss. :D

Last day of working week for me today, will apply for the job now password retrieved. I interviewed for this Trust recently and although not successful they did encourage me to apply again. DH crazy working fortnight almost come to an end as well, he has been starting work at 2am!

Have a good day everyone :)

Day off today so have an extended weekend. Have decided not to apply for the job due to knocked confidence and demands of a commute as well as temporary drop in pay. I want a few months of stability, albeit not in desired career and wait for the local posts which WILL come!

    Plan for today/weekend
    • Dig up bush that keeps blocking light
    • Finish painting fences (just need a paint touch up)
    • Stain decking balustrades (less appealing now they need maintaining!)
    • Check date of DH Mot and make sure he sorts worn tyre
    • Get DH to register to view his pension online
    • Investigate 8ky and broadband deals
    • Check home insurance renewal date
    • Uni work
Would like to set a mini financial target for Sept-Dec but will do after Monday as have a clearer idea of working hours and pay.

All very productive. I would avoid a long commute too.

I ended up applying for the job after having lots of encouragement from a fellow student friend. I think deep down I would rather wait for local posts. However, although hoping it's positive, next weeks meeting could be a disaster and a back up would be quite welcome then!

Been for a run and DD has a birthday party to go to, the first of 3 this week! Planned to put money in cards but came across my present haul so have saved some cash there. Small top up shop yesterday, have been trying to stick to £200 for the month (including wine). I think I will go over budget but keeping track really helps to reduce costs. The vouchers that have been in a national newspaper have really helped too. :D

Payday next week which will get us out of our overdraft, hopefully unscathed. As I finish my course in a few weeks it means we pretty much survived this year financially! :j

Thank you, it's there as an option in case going back to my old post doesn't quite go to plan.

DD had yet another party to go to today but we all had a good day. It was at a farm so although we had to pay for DS as not invited it turned into a pretty good family day out. Does mean I've spent all evening swamped in academia though! DH paid for lunch for him and DS whilst I made do with a banana as I'm trying to be good and stick to SW. :)

Was hoping not to take anymore money out of the bank this week but DD needs money Tuesday and I've had to get a bit more shopping today. Hopefully a few days back in work will help with a few NSD's

Payday this week, cannot wait to get out of my overdraft. Just hoping there is enough money left to maintain it after everything is paid. A reasonable month of nursery fees will definitely help!

Not really managing NSD's even when working! DD needed £8.50 for an event she was being taken to today and DH has been out for milk and wine but used his own money so not counting that in my grocery challenge. Am trying to aim for £200 for the months (2 adults and 2 hungry growing children!) but although it won't happen I will have an idea of spends to amend SOA next month.

Meeting went well, all systems go for my return and manager promised to sort out my pay. Anything extra I earn above what I have brought home this year is going off the 0% cards so it's all relative but the debt will come down quicker!

Off to join DH for a cheeky mid week glass of wine. He has 2 days off so obviously thinks it's the weekend!

I would love to hear your secrets for £200 for the four of your. I'm struggling to get mine under £300 which is something I am working on.
