Weekend list of jobs
1) Find somewhere to plant lavender bought a while ago! Planted!
2) sort tomato plants and make room for cabbages and leeks Done!
3) Plant more rocket and lettuce seeds Done!
4) Paint another coat on some of the fence panels
5) Rub down and repair kitchen sealing and wall from where boiler leaked.
6) Stain decking Done the main bit but not the fiddly spindles
That's on top of all the ordinary stuff so we shall see!
Well I thought we'd managed barely anything off the list but not a bad effort. Probably helped by the fact we haven't ventured far this weekend and normally have a few hours out somewhere at National Trust etc.
Managed a run yesterday morning and my app tells me I will be running for an hour in a few weeks - not so sure about that! :rotfl:
Back to work tomorrow but have a couple of extra days off this week so a fairly short week ahead. Not much planned this evening, am shattered so think it will be a film and early night. Taking the night off academia when I usually do it every Sunday so it feels a bit naughty!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Just checked online banking to see check the impact of the weekend! We have £40 less than I hoped and this takes into account me not moving any of DH's overtime pay.
Where does the money go! Payday in 2 weeks and we will be back in the black and on the up.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I bet it's not. I remember when I started and even the socks I'm sure were £4 a pair and had to be bought from a specific shop! That was over 20 years ago aswell.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Thought I'd had a NSD then realised have bought petrol.
Have been reading through HelenDaveKids diary and an annual budget was discussed. I really need to do this. I don't budget for car expenses as there's not much room in the budget but still have to pay out when we need to.
Also remembered earlier a discussion last year that Sept 1st often feels like a new year with new plans as we say goodbye to Summer. I am definitely going to make a plan for September and set some pre and post Chridtmas goals.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I strongly believe that the year starts on sept 1. I choose to ignore the calendar and follow my feelings! Good luck with your planning.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
