    Happy new kitchen-diner!! :D

The over-spend is annoying, but you have something amazing to show for it & like you said, it's likely to be the heart of your home & will therefore be sooooo worth the expense & hassle.

    Happy New Year everyone!

Not sure what happened to 2012 but c'est la vie!

Mortgage balance updated with a mere £16 OP <cries> but clearing the kitchen expenses has to take priority. Electrician paid and more tradesmen work and expenses due this week. Then just need to get the decorator back and it's finished! :j

Todays plan is to have a fairly lazy day but do the following

    1. Finish tidying. Have rearranged lounge and it looks amazing, need the rest of the house to same standard.
    2. Sort out DS clothes, there are too many!
    3. Tidy kitchen in preparation for work tomorrow.
    4. Work out finances.
    5. Price up posting a parcel and send tomorrow.
All of this should be possible as we are both at home today. It's when the children outnumber the adults that less gets done :)

    Thanks Newgirly, and to you.

Tradesman to pay tomorrow and I have enough funds! May not have enough for food without going into OD but depends on DH's overtime pay ;)

Had ordered flooring from one store only to find out it hadn't been ordered as they didn't put it through as it was Christmas. Priced it up elsewhere, cancelled order and have saved ourselves over £100 on the price! I may send an email of complaint and see if I get any form of apology. Also saved about £50 taking back bits and pieces today (excess materials bought and swapped handles for cheaper ones). Still have some items that we can return which will do over weekend.

Other than that, am absolutely shattered and looking forward to a week off coming up soon. :T

Not much happening here, no huge miracle OP's have been made!

Chased up refund for flooring and have paid most trademen costs :j

Things are a bit tight until payday so am really trying to keep food costs down - easier said than done.

DH needs to take his car to the garage after work ? exhaust falling off, I hope it isn't! My car needs taxing aswell so OP's may be very slim this month. I also chased up Onepoll payment that has been due since end of October and they said it's been sent but I haven't received it! I told them this and that seemed to be the end of the conversation.

Have booked two overtime shifts for the weekend so that should help matters :)

Hope you are all having a good frugal January.

Onepoll money chased up and received, car has cost £58. Guess it's a case of in one hand and out of the other!

Busy busy busy but I am mostly spending money!

Our guttering is leaking so have arranged for someone to call tomorrow morning. Decorator is also coming to finish off so he needs paying aswell. Payday next week - please hurry up! Definitely think we need a break from home improvments for a while. Maybe just do some decorating over the summer! I still frequent Rightmove so pending thousands on my house has not curbed my addiction! ;)

Had a flutter of £10 on online bingo and won twice so cashed out £58! I hadn't played on there for over a year so I think that was why I won! I won't be playing again anyway.

Have also managed to sell a bundle of clothes, only made around £8 but it clears space and it's a little bit back in my pocket.

Still need to work out DH remaining holiday entitlement, tax my car and I'm mostly on track with jobs for the week :j

Congrats on the bingo win, sounds like a wise move to cash it in and not play again.....
  • Hi Cath, well done on the bingo win that was a good return on your money.
