Building work is done :j minimal mess and disruption too!
Just need plasterer and electrician to do a few bits before kitchen is fitted. It looks so different already.
Some of you may have noticed that SP are no longer up and running, I have logged back into SB and can't remember now why I didn't like it at first! Not sure I'll earn much in the way of vouchers in time for Christmas but it all helps.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hi, hope your house revamp is going well!
I've just noticed SP not working any more. I've been using Swagbuck more recently.
Also check out Adpoints if you have a nectar card. Can only earn £5 per month but only spend about 20-30mins doing it (no referral bonuses unfortunately!).Mtg May 2011 - £127,500/825610% CC - £2211/2211Argos Card 0% - £253.95/208.950 -

I tried to finish my spins last week and got the notice to say it was no longer running. They have just paid out my final payment though. I haven't been earning as fast as I used to on there lately. I have revived my SB account though and can't understand why I didn't like it! I will look into Adpoints, thank you.
Wall is out but we have other delays now. I am so frustrated! A tradesman has been stalling coming out for several weeks, has been to price up job and now doesn't have time to do the work which means we can't get plastering etc done. Have someone else coming out next week who is aware of tight time-frame so fingers crossed everyone!
Other than that, life is just wonderfulJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
DH has been paid and as we both get paid again next Friday I have left us £30 for the week and transferred everything else to savnigs.
I get 2 lots TC and CB payments next month but can never seem to work out how to ensure one of them is spare! I will try and do the maths!
Once again could do with a declutter here and I definitely need to empty the wardrobe of bought Christmas presents over the weekend, wrap them and make a list that I will not misplace!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Today needs to be a constructive day. DD is at school and DS at nursery so I am home alone.
So far today have read meter readings, just need to submit them and see if electricity usage has gone down since having new boiler. Think the elec used to heat the water?
Have made a phonecall to confirm attendance at a meeting.
Still to do:- Check account (payday this week)
- Sort through binbag of stuff that has been sitting around
- Chase up payment for sold item so I can post
- Find and then wrap Christmas presents
- Make a list of presents left to buy after doing ^^^
- Tidy bookshelf that is driving me mad!
- Maybe strip some wallpaper (this is very low on my list!)

Today has been less constructive than yesterday as DS is being incredibly clingy (even moreso than usual). I have however claimed £1.13 from TCB!
Chased up workmen and have someone coming out tomorrow and Friday. I am remaining positive that all of the work will be done in time.
Decluttered 2 bags of toys yesterday to school for their Christmas Fayre.
In my efforts not to spend too much at Christmas but to make sure DD (age 4) is pleased with her presents I asked her this morning 'if you could have just one present for Christmas what would you like?' her reply 'you don't just have one - you have loads' ah well, I better remind her of the meaning of Christmas.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Posted sold items and requested money from paypal so will transfer to savings shortly.
Payday today although you would never know it from looking at my bank account. I have however transferred £350 straight to savings. I have had so many unaccounted for expenses with the new kitchen. Latest bill is £300 for the electrical work although I have to say it's really taking shape now and will be worth it.
Sold a faulty item today (was declared) and sold almost immediately, I think perhaps someone has had a bargain as they will probably be able to fix it.
Am struggling with Christmas shopping a bit. I don't want to buy too much for the children as they have no need and I don't want to waste money. Does anyone have any ideas for cheap but nice presents for a 4 year old and one year old????? I think i'm thinking of more traditional stuff.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Different coloured play-doh?? Plasticine?? Fuzzy felt?? My kids used to love things like that when they little ~ brings back memories
Glad the kitchen renovations are going well ~ I bet you'll be glad when it's all finished & looking beautiful.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Glad rennovations are going well Cath
Had to :rotfl: on DDs comment about christmas presents!! but agree something really nice that they will use lots? Dont know about things like dolls / tea sets (if she is into tea parties with dolls) something she will play with lots?
you motivated me to check tcb to see if I have any money to claim - but alas mine is still pending!0 -
I think its quantity rather than quality with my two, sounds like your DD is the same. Not that it means expense. I just wrap everything seperately, packs of crayons, sweeties, little purses and put some coppers in, when we bought my DD a wooden kitchen i wrapped all the little bits of food/plates seperately. Takes ages but i think they appreciate it more, and it makes it all seem very exciting!0
