Sounds like you should stay put! After two and a half years of stewing over it I still can't make my mind up between stay/move/stay and get the loft done. In the end the kids will have all left home and we will still be trying to decide :D

Sold something else for £12 so that can be added to savings. Should hopefully hit payout on onepoll in next couple of weeks so that will be a bonus aswell.

Food budget for the month went brilliantly, £182.89 spent for the four of us! Payday tomorrow so can hopefully top up savings :D.

My spreadsheet tells me we won't come under 100k until September 2013 which is 9 months later than planned. Savings has become our priority but I would still like to get there a couple of months early. I get a payrise next month which should be worth around £80 after stoppages so I guess I could use that.

  • Hi CathT,

Which survey sites are you with? I'm down to just VO but I have a little more free time I could spend on this... would you recommend any?

Everyone likes different ones but I have a few I stuck with. tbh I don't do many now as I don't have the free time but did lots on maternity leave as it was all extra money. My favourites are Global Test Market, surveys worth 30-50 points and 1000 points = $50 (about £32). I used to achieve this every few months. OnePoll is good as they're short surveys but you have to keep checking (surveys are paid in pence (about 15p) and you redeem at £40. Rewarded opinions is ok but it took me 2 years to get to £20! Yougov is good, you are invited by email but they don't screen you out. They pay by cheque at £50. Newvista is good aswell (I could see if I could recommend you for this one?)

    HTH? :)

  • Hi Cath,

Thanks for your recommended list. I used to be a member of Global Test Market... I can't remember why I left now!

I'll PM you for a referral.

Not enough hours in the day!

Have just worked two very long and stressful shifts and came home to a wide awake teething, upset little boy. He has finally settled and I am making a list of what I need to do tomorow.

    • Pay nursery bill
    • Pay CC bill
    • Open today's post!
    • Tidy the house (not sure what has happened while I've been in work but it is chaos here!)
    • Do a huge food shop
    • Pay for second hand clothes I've bought
    • Contact plumber re: boiler quote
    • Do homework with DD
    • Wash uniforms
I wonder if I will actually be able to achieve that tomorrow. I am meant to be going to a relatives for Sunday lunch too! DH wants to take DD to a carboot in the morning and I am trying to out him off so we can get more done here.

I think I need to do some clever money switching until more money credits the account. That's the downside of DH being paid weekly. Think I might start pricing up kitchens soon with the aim to get it all done asap. Much of the kitchen might have to be ripped out to remove old boiler and install new one.

Could do with having a good clearout of old toys to make way for Christmas (although I don't intend to buy them much!)

Still waiting for boiler quote, have a feeling the plumber doesn't want the job as it is so awkward!

Looked at some showhomes today, realistically I don't think we will move but we did pinch a few ideas for our plans!

Still haven't done any decluttering and if I'm honest the house is really getting me down :(. I just can't seem to keep on top of it with 2 small children and both of us working full time. Any tips??????

Got a superpoints referral code if anyone fancies making some extra £££'s?

Boiler quote back and very reasonable. Just need to get a price for a kitchen now. I have a rough idea of what I would like to spend but not sure what quality that will get me.

Outstanding mortgage updated today and it looks very nice starting with 105! :D If I can OP around another £185 on top of this months OP's, next month will start with a £104!

Busy trying to declutter at the moment partly in preparation for C day but also as we may have to live in the playroom whilst the work is done to the house! It will definitely be worth it in the end though and I am quite excited about the work being started.
