Have sold a few toys so added £17 to the renovation pot. I had a note in my diary to transfer £500 to my savings this week. Not sure how I came up with that plan as I don't have £500!

The start of school has proved to be expensive so have paid out here and there this week. Still debating whether to send DD with a packed lunch, she has said she sat by herself and I really hope that has nothing to do with her having a hot meal!!!

Am really enjoying being off this week and at times wish I was a SAHM, there is more than enough to do here to keep me going. I have no idea how I also work fulltime!

Other MSE news, sticking to my food budget really well which is great and not been as difficult as I thought.

Also done everything on my list apart from renewing home insurance :j

Haha, always plenty to do isn't there regardless of your dependents!

School and nursery run done, one load of washing put out on line, bedding in the machine and I'm having a quick coffee before sorting out clothes to sell. Could do with checking banking then think i'll make some plans for payday.

Am considering stoozing some money if we need to so we can do our extension that bit quicker. If it means we can do it 18 months earlier by using funds from a 0% card it does seem like a viable option (we will pay it off before we are charged interest) :)

Children's birthdays are coming up but plan to keep spends at a minimum. They don't need anything so instead are having toys I know they will enjoy and play with.

Booked MOT for DH and renewed home insurance. I decided against changing providers as we found a nasty crack in the plasterwork and I didn't want to jeopardise any potential claim for sake of £30 cashback!

Waiting for someone to collect a baby item and that will be another £10 for the renovation pot.

I'm within budget for food spends but the account is empty which means we must have overspent on petrol! Only need to last until next Friday though. Renovation savings coming on well and by the end of year we should have £2500 whilst still making OP of over £100 a month.

Weather has gone a bit cooler here but after submitting my gas and electric readings I have had a scary increase in DD and am now paying £99 a month! I'm not sure how much energy the DW uses but I'm trying not to use that and also the TD which is an obvious one. Not sure how I will dry washing especially if I'm too tight to put the heating on aswell!

I hate these mid-seasons, where washing is too cold to dry outside but there is no heating so it won't dry inside either. I have to confess I do resort to the TD for a couple of weeks in autumn and spring.

The TD uses a lot of energy... I really noticed it when I first got it and was eagerly TDing everything... now I only use it when I really need to, but I still have no regrets, and I'm a singleton. Can't imagine how families cope without one.

Too easy to rely on them isn't it. Washing is on the line and I will have to rescue it before it rains.

Baby item still not collected despite a time being arranged twice. Why not just say if they have changed their mind???

Added another £30 to savings pot as had a bank credit. Now have £2,275 so I think it will be time to price up kitchens soon :D Maybe January sales will be the time to buy. Only problem will be finding someone to fit it as I don't think many joiners are keen. Have to ask around for some recommendations.

Payday this week so hopefully I will bring home more than I have budgeted and can top up the savings even more.

Hi cath, hope you don't mind me asking but how does it work with stoozing? Can you get cash on the card for 0% or do you have to already have debt on there and do balance transfers?
Apologies for picking your brains :D

I think most of the transfers are to repay original debt but certain lenders advertise that you can transfer money into your current account. Hope this helps, what are you planning Newgirly! :D

Thanks cath, I am not planning anything really (today anyway!) just the loft conversion idea is always lurking in the back ground even though we are now back to oping so we can move in a few years instead. One day I will make up my mind and stick to it :D

I will be honest, despite saying 'we are definitely not moving' I do browse righmove. I would only be willing to increase mortgage by 40k max but for that all we would get is a similar property to what we have. By spending 40k here (which we won't) we could create a property similar to the ones I have seen that are worth at least 60-70k more than this. I jut wouldn't be a newbuild!
