Thanks for that Becky. I think i'll just keep sending money across but keep date the same for now as I'm not super confident with their online banking and changes don't show up until the payment has gone (doesn't show a new scheduled one if that makes sense).

Little to do list to remind myself:
    [STRIKE]1) Email a complaint
    2) Chase up missing delivery (same store but separate issue!!!!)[/STRIKE]
    3) Get nursery registration number so can attempt to claim towards childcare expenses. 2 children in nursery is financially crippling!!!
    4) declutter, declutter, delcutter!!

Other than that have had another lovely family day out using our NT membership. We have a property about 2 miles away and there are usually events on so that could be our haunt this summer!

DH is working lots of overtime at the moment with some very early starts so I think i'll let him have half of his OT pay. The other half can go to the mortgage!

Still toying with extension plans, we have the plans that were drawn up for the previous vendors but just don't know which bit of it to do. Essentially it needs to be the most cost effective and giving us the space we want. I don't want extra rooms for the sake of it.

First two jobs completed. Absolutely driving myself mad with extension ideas. I thought I had a good plan but think our neighbours will oppose it as they are incredibly awkward and it would involve a 2 storey side extension so although we are detached our house would be closer to the boundary and them! Is a neighbour opposing enough to prevent plans getting approval?

Superpoints money claimed so should be in account by Friday. Had another lovely afternoon out but back to work tomorrow. Made contact with architect so possibly get some better ideas soon! Can tick another job off my list tomorrow as will get childcare details I need to inform tax credits. We spent £500 on childcare last month!

No, getting PP is far more about what the planning rules say than what the neighbours feel about it. The rules don't always make any sense, though, and planners are often quite inflexible about applying them. 2 storey side extensions can be tricky to get PP for - rear ones are easier. If you can drop into your council's planning office, you should be able to have a chat with a planning officer for free, just to see what kind of things they think you'd be likely to get PP for. The easiest planning situation is if you can design something that's within the rules for permitted development, because then you just need to check with your local office that you've interpreted the rules correctly, rather than apply for PP itself. There's a miniguide to permitted development here. (Ignore the first slide unless you're in a conservation area or AONB or something.)

Thank you for that Lois that's really helpful. Hoping architect will phone soon. I'm disciplined when it comes to setting financial targets so if I knew I need £x amount by x time I think I could do it! :D

Large item ending on ebay tonight, I started the bid at £150 which is what I paid and I have 16 watchers at the moment and a bid was placed days ago! The extra cash and space will be most welcome!

Have set up a larger OP for September and when payday arrives will re-evaluate my savings SO and mortgage OP SO as I have been doing overtime and compared to mat leave my wages are quite healthy! I am shattered though and off to work again this afternoon.

Can't believe it's the 12th already, where is the month going! DD starting school nursey in September so I'm making the most of my time with her before she starts full days. Should probably look at buying her uniform and shoes this week before the month runs away with me.

Can also tick another job off my to do list. I have phoned tax credits about childcare so hopefully we can get a little bit of help! It will all stop for us in April so I intend to claim what I can while I can!

2 of dd's outfits sold and posted. Superpoints money received but decided to leave that in paypal to help out with getting ds's clothes. I've been buying from a fb selling site and had some fabulous buys.

Will update more tomorrow when have more time!

I know.... and now it's the 15th. This month is flying by. Although I always say the year gets quicker towards the end.

Keep up the good work on ebay selling!

Thanks MW, we started our diaries at the same time and I love following your diary. I'm still convinced you'll get to 100k before me though!

Sold DS pram, didn't get as much as I hoped but still sold it for more than I paid for it. That's been collected this morning so has freed up some space. I'm getting confused with my SS/2012 challenge and general OP's! I make an automatic OP as stuck to paying £700 a month when had new deal but payments only need to be around £630 but because we went back over 25 years for affordability reasons my standard mortgage is <500 so I have a bigger OP to the mortgage company than what I see as a true OP if that makes sense. Confused? I am! :rotfl:

Anyway, i'm paying over £1k to mortgage this month. I also need to have a fiddle with SS as my term doesn't seem to be coming down much. Once my tracker ends I've left the interest rate run as 3.19 (old rate) but standard payment is wrong based on the length so if that's amended I might see the months come down. Just not sure what to guess as the rate!

    If you're still reading.....bravo! :D

Haha, not just me then. :rotfl:

A lot of the money from the pram seems to have disappeared today by buying school uniform and shoes! I think i've bought everything now thankfully!

What do you find is most cost effective? School lunch or packed lunch? Meal is £2 a day.
