Hi CathT, haven't posted for a while but just wanted to say how well you're doing with all the money earning. I know from when I did the loft how it can feel disappointing to not see the mortgage figure go down as quick as you'd like. But think of the equity you're adding to the house, and how much it will improve your life living there once finished. And then you can reattack the mortgage with vigour!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Hi CathT I did the kind of work that you are doing last year, and it has taken me a while to get back on track. BUT having a lovely house, full of my "treasures" (EBay finds) and really being a better house is worth it. You are a better MFW than me so it wont take you so long.0

Thank you MW and Toots, it is difficult when you have house projects to do aswell isn't it. Doors are finally finished, I am hiring a decorator to do anything else; it takes far too long to get things done with a baby and 3 yo in tow!
Pleasantly surprised when I logged into TCB this morning as cashback from car insurance (last Dec) is payable on both mine and DH account, that's £66.95 each and DH had a newvista survey too so that's £134.62. :j That would make a lovely OP but I'll send it to my student account before they charge me lots.

Well I definitely believe that regular reading of diaries and keeping one's own diary up to date is the best way to keep up the MF journey. I really have not been watching the pennies lately but this stops now!
I'm back to work next week. Where did that time go? Have managed to do a few fiddly tasks while I have the time. DH is currently stripping the wallaper in the lounge ready for our next bit of renovating.
Have done a quick SOA and with me going back f/t DH's wages appear to be spare! I'm unsure how much childcare will cost us but do have some credit through vouchers and may apply through TC if costs more than our voucher amount. I have 3 months of two children at nursery and am dreading the bill! DD will start nursery plus in September which is more manageable at £32 a week. I've tried to book off the half term weeks as holiday weeks aswell. I am beginning to realise it's so much easier when they are at nursery rather than school!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
