Hmm, you've got me wondering about knocking another wall out now  We currently have a separate (& small) kitchen, utility & dining room & I would like to knock the kitchen & utility through, but now you've got me thinking of knocking through to the dining room as well. My problem is that I don't want to live here forever BUT creating a big kitchen/diner could be worth it when we come to sell?? Stop putting (expensive) ideas into my head, Cath!! :rotfl:

I do love hearing about & planning house renovations ~ think I should have been a builder!! :o Are you thinking of getting the work done before you go back to work??

:D This is the first time we've had firm plans that are actually achievable and I said to DH this evening that once we start there will probably be no stopping us (finances permitting). I'm hoping my brother can help out with stage one which we will do before I go back to work I should think. The next bit involves the kitchen so that will wait a few more months.

Another item sold today so will post that in the morning, have sent my phone to a recycling company and also earned £1 through TCB.

Am very pleased to see that my tomato seeds have started sprouting too, maybe I am slightly green fingered after all. :)

Have set up an 8% regular saver for DH so will add to that once I'm back at work and have more money so we can save the maximum for the year.

This post makes me think perhaps I have been slightly productive but it doesn't feel that way at all. Just don't seem to get a lot done with a clingy baby that sleeps 30 minutes all day!

Another item decluttered and posted this morning. Had a constructive day, DH did an awfully expensive foodshop though!
Having someone round this week to price up some of the renovation jobs we are planning, am getting excited to start! Will have to divert some money towards savings instead of making OP's but there's not much point being MF at 40 when I'll hate my house for the next 10 years! If i'm super money savvy maybe we can get the work done and still achieve being MF by 40! :)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and not getting annoyed by random rain and hail showers!!

I've got a 50 point referral code for Superpoints, any takers?

You just need to follow the link, add a few details and start spinning! I'm easily making £25 a month from it and it's much easier than doing some surveys!!

Having a great morning so far! Had my best maternity pay ever so have some 'excess' to save/OP. Also, my mortgage payment has been refunded back to my account that was taken before the switch. (it's almost £700 so very nice to see that in my account!) I think i'll put it in savings for now so we can get cracking with the house plans.

Lots to do today but this list carries over from one week to the other! I do really need to book my car MOT though.

Thank you to who used the Superpoints code, all you need to do is do your spins daily, complete profile details to get more spins, get points from daily email and if you can sign friends up you can also increase your spins. Just 2 friends makes a difference.

I redeemed twice this week and seem to be managing that twice a month taking my monthly earnings to around £32!! It's so easy, you literally click a button!!!

Where are my days going! I am seriously struggling to fit everything in at the moment.

£9.05 earned sooooo easily from Superpoints this week and that's in my paypal account already. Have been browsing interior french doors and need to hurry up and choose some so the work can begin!!

Have just been updating my signature and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I have made from TCB etc. Just shows that free money is fairly easy to come by!

  • That really is an impressive amount from TCB, i've about that same from Quidco although most of that are things I am buying for work so really well done on that!

Thanks LP, that's a mixture of TCB and surveys but it will get topped up nicely when our cashback for car insurance is paid (purchased in Dec) as it's worth £67 to each of us. That's fab you can use it for work related stuff too.

Sent my old phone to a recycling company and although I'm not getting as much for it as I hoped it is all extra in the pot. Sold a couple more small items and they have been posted.

Have passed on some furniture to a family member to make way for knocking down walls and already with that gone we can really visualise how the space is going to look. I've set a 'flexible' timeframe of 18 months to getting this completed. One thing I haven't done is work out how much money we can save in that time which would possible have been a good idea! :D

Money received from selling phone so I've transferred that straight across to my student account is my interest free overdraft ends soon!

Bit of a spendy day yesterday! Met up with some friends so had train fare and coffee and cake costs (worth every penny) but then DH found a nail in his tyre so that was £38 for a new one. Fitter was impressed that it was the original tyre from a 55 plate car! My car is being MOT'd today so hoping it passes! Wish me luck :D

I really wish i'd done some 'what I owe the world' figures as we've reduced OP to focus on debts lately. These have all been on 0% hence why they weren't priority before. However, all are manageable to pay off in required timeframe.

    I shall keep plodding.....
