Good news on the new mortgage and improved rate. I really need to find some energy to declutter and clean.. perhaps I'll just catch up on a few more diaries!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

You seem to be doing really well on surveys! I started back on GTM after you said last week & have managed to do 3 surveys (after being screened out of hundreds in the past few months!!) but they seem to be better paid surveys, they all paid above £1. I was just wondering if you only do the surveys for points & not for sweepstakes, I've just been ignoring them so far.
I'm just trying to encourage more people (like minded people that I speak to on Dooyoo) to join up SP, nearing a payout...

I have been getting screened out of a lot lately but am back up to 95 points again now. I never do the sweepstakes ones. It annoys me when you spend 15 mins on one only for it to say it wasn't for points!
Another item sold, only £1.50 but it all helps!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
My only issue is: As I am on maternity leave, we won't get a decent mortgage offer until I am back at work in June so if we were to sell right now we couldn't borrow enough for a new house.
if you are on Statutory Maternity Leave you are still classed as working so it might not be such a problem when trying to get new mortgage.
Last year I just finished my leave and decided not to go back than but we still didn't have any problems getting the mortgage deal.Debt: [STRIKE]-£77.299 74,209[/STRIKE]-£72,860 Projected MF date(age):[STRIKE]2044(63)[/STRIKE] 2029(48)

Thanks Weronika, my income when I go back to work will be double what i'm earning now so we'd get a bigger mortgage offer if we waited. I always have the move/stay dilemma with myself!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Wow it's harder to find OP's when on mat leave! I get paid this week but there's not much left over!
Really impressed with FD, conveyancers rang yesterday and will update via text now which is so convenient. All of our paperwork was returned to us this morning. Am so looking forward to a rate of 2.59% This time 2 years ago we were coming to the end of our 5.49% fix!
Possibly sold 2 more items but just waiting for payment and I can get those posted.
As well as continuing to make good OP's I plan to turn attention to savings too, I really want to start improving our home (not been on rightmove for 5 days!!) and the bigger the fund the better our options.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Having a really good day despite no sleep. Baby full of cold (? teething related but he's fed up all the same) so he wanted to be held and feed every 30mins ish through the night. DH picking DD up from nursery so I won't need to take him out again which is a huge help.
2 more items sold so another £2 added to renovation savings!
Great day on SP, redeemed and am a 1/3 of way to payout again so should get 3 payouts this month!
Paid for house valuation (good job it's payday tomorrow) so just waiting for a date to be arranged.
Only thing I don't appear to be able to fit into my day at the moment is lunch!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Yay for you!:j That's a great rate!
Last April we also finished our 5.49% fix and I'm so looking forward to ending current 2 yr fx (3.85%).
It made a nice difference in our payments but when I read about people getting rates below 3% I'm getting upset all over again that we couldn't get anything better! :mad:We bought the house less than 3 years ago and because it needed top to bottom renovation we couldn't put much of deposit. My big plan for this year is OP as much as possible to get 60% LTV and one of those great deals hopefully will still float around;)Debt: [STRIKE]-£77.299 74,209[/STRIKE]-£72,860 Projected MF date(age):[STRIKE]2044(63)[/STRIKE] 2029(48)

Thanks, it has been a long drawn out process but definitely worth the time spent collecting paperwork etc. House is getting valued on Monday, am keeping my fingers crossed for a good valuation as we'll then have a good enough LTV to secure the 2.39% deal which would be fab!!
Weronika, that's a pretty good fix so don't be disheartened. Our current deal is 3.19% and we noticed a big difference when we went onto that. I'm hoping that in 2 year we will be well below 60% and can secure another good deal.
Parcel posted, got another £3 to get on onepoll before payout and back up to 200 points on GTM! Everything is headed in the right direction at the moment.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I know how you feel, DD's 1st tooth popped through this morning & I think the 2nd is coming too. She's been up 3 times already and crying is really pained. Its heartbreakingMtg May 2011 - £127,500/825610% CC - £2211/2211Argos Card 0% - £253.95/208.950
