Default charges have dropped from £25 to £8 :T
Minimum repayments have dropped from 3% to 2.5%
Cash withdrawals are now UP from 1.5% or £1.50 to 2.5% or £2.50
Thanks for that Prosaic, I've been wondering when they'd be targetting this card too. Somehow I have a feeling cash withdrawals is not the only price hike we'll be seeing on this one...0 -
Had an AMEX blue for a few years. Got a letter informing me of the chip and Pin rollout. Looks like the signature cards are going.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0

You can, but you get a pop up telling you to do an application over the phone.0 -
well spotted
I've already got a blue card, thought it had been withdrawn for new customers, making it more elite0 -

I have one too. I also have a Platinum credit card. I hope this doesn't mean that the Blue cashback will be reduced for existing customers.0 -
The blue's all see through now. Got a new one with the chip and pin roll out. Sexy. Exciting
Whether the blue or platinum is better for you depends on your annual spend. The Platinum has a higher cashback, but the thresholds are lower on the blue, meaning lower spends qualify for cashback.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. I thought I saw someone with a "see-through" blue card. At first I thought my eyes were playing me tricks.Saucepot wrote:Whether the blue or platinum is better for you depends on your annual spend. I quite agree, the Platinum isn't best for everyone. My spending last year didn't even hit £8K, so the Blue would have been much better for me.0 -

If your spend is just under the 2% threshold, then it doesn't matter which card you have. If it occasionaly goes over then you might aswell have the platinum.
If your spend is likely to be 2k or 3k then it makes a difference as the point at which the 0.5% kicks into 1% is lower for the blue.
You can change cards easily if you phone them up.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0
