Found this on another site in the meantime here
Seems straight forward let me know if you have any problems following it.
However it seems that you may need to still have them connected by ethernet cable. I will try and get on to netgear site again .....
Alternately you could to see if the netgear is seen ok upstairs
You could try swapping the out the thomson and use the netgear instead. You can use the ethernet cable to config it for your plusnet user id as follows
encapulation ..... PPoA
multiplx .............. VC
QOS UBR

Then Plug in your cable from your phone socket into the wan port . Also set up your WEP/WPA passwords and Network SSID.
Still no news on the netgear site4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -

I dont understand a word of any of that:o0 -
It seems that you will still need to use an ethernet cable to connect the two routers. I cannot find anything in the manuals or on Google about using either of them as an access point only (ie as a wireless repeater). Will look more tomorrow, wife getting lonely.:o4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Morning Merc,
haven't found anything useful thus far about using the two as wireless access points, except connecting them using an ethernet cable.
Lets start with seeing if the New router (Netgear) has a better chance of being seen upstairs.
Plug it in and switch on downstairs, don't worry about config yet nor about plugging it into the phone. Then go upstairs and use inssider with the dongle and lets see how much strength you have using the dongle. Let me know the result the netgear will probably be on channel 11.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . A very good morning to you
Will have to wait until this evening when finish work
so just plug in the netgear downstairs and then plug in the netgear dongle into the computer upstairs and run that insider program?0 -
