    Good evenng everyone
A quick bump from me and welcome to any newbies lurking out there too scared to post.

Come and say hello, we don't bite and there are loads of helpful and friendly people here willing to give you lots of help and advice.
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)
  • A very good morning Bump from me

I am glad to see the thread is still alive and kicking as I personally agree it is a thread that needs to be kept going and I do hope it stays.

It was set up on the DFW board for a reason and then over here - regular users and newbies alike use it lets hope we get to keep it at it really does send out such an important message

  • Hi everyone

Can I just clarify I didn't mean a stop to the newbies thread, just one that mentions trolls in the title - I really do feel that is possibly like a red flag to a bull for the trolls and possibly worrying newbies more than necessary.

Having a "welcome all newbies and lurkers" thread is great. What do you think? Would someone like to start one?
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

  • That is fine if you want to change the title to just Notice to Newcomers but you do realise the message that is posted at the top of each page does mention trolls and I think that should remain.

Are you saying that we shouldn't mentione the T word on the thread?

Not really sure where you are coming from Andrea.............

I'll put my hand up, please?

This was precisley my sentiments, in the first place, from a fresh perspective.

A new title seems an okay compromise to me, assume that its still okay to include the message at the top of the page though? I think that is necessary and its not meant to scare newcomers.
It does happen that newbies occasionally post when none of the regulars are around and get negative comments about bankruptcy, if they've seen the notice then hopefully they'll come back/wait for more advice, rather than leaving never to come back.

but if a compromise is in the title I am all for that as long as we get to keep the thread - which from earlier comments it seems to be that people want it to remain.

Just seems a bit silly that we shouldn't use the T word? it will probably appear as !!!!! soon.......

Anyway I'm worn out with all this rubbish..... it seems old regular posters thoughts/comments don't really account to much and I am sure Andrea/MSE will do what they want regardelss.

This is all well and good, but MSE needs some sort of system where troublemakers are rooted out and booted off the forum. Other Forums can do it so why can`t MSE? It is not rocket science to see who the real troublemaker/s is/are. You are going to lose a lot of good peeps from here who have helped a lot of genuine people.

    Andrea

This is a good idea, but it needs to be someone, with a completely independant bias, not involved with any of what has gone before.

I suppose its too much to ask for you to be the host of the thread? I'm sure many people would appreciate your time, and feel much safer, around here.

    Thanks Andrea
