    Thanks :)

Btw... we have a sticky post at the top of the board that helps members make the best of the (admittedly dodgy) search facility here.

Why does everyone freeze them? They take valuable space in a freezer and they don't need freezing at all! Trust me, I come from breadcrumb country, as my OH says there you can get just about anything covered in breadcrumbs!!:-))

I keep mine in plastic bucket from Haribo party sweets (with cover).

And as I grew up being fed anything with breadcrumbs I now also cook anything covered with breadcrumbs.. :-))

My OH loves breaded and deep fried mushrooms AND something all our friends laughed at at the party but then eat it all within minutes- breaded and deep fried cauliflower (sometimes I do brocolli too) - best with new potatoes/mash and garlic mayo. And of course on our menu we never miss shnitzels out. However you need to have a deep fat fryer, doing it in pan will just mean that your food will soak up lot of oil and also you cannot control really the temperature so you will waste oil each time you do it.

When I make a fruit tart, I sprinkle some breadcrumbs on the pastry before adding the fruit. It soaks the juices and avoids a soggy bottom. :D
  • Stuffing.

Do the dry and wet separately. Then mix in a bowl and leave for an hour. Then roll into balls and cook for about 45mins with roasty potatoes.

Dry - bread and crusts, sage, salt and pepper
Wet - 1 egg, an onion, a dash of milk.

    Glorious.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Other ideas already suggested. Addition, as far as I know you can use them to thicken a soup.
