ooh, my mother used to make a pudding - I think it was called Queen of Puddings. I think it had a layer of jam, a layer of breadcrumbs soaked in an egg/milk mixture and topped with meringue then baked. Might be worth googling

bread crumbs are good to eat but if you have loads of it, better be creative and make other recipes. I use bread crumbs for pizza rolls - very delicious! :)

I use breadcrumbs in HM nut loaf.

When my old breadmaker died and I had a housebrick rather than a loaf, I wuzzed it in the food processor and used the resulting crumbs in nut loaf also, to avoid waste.

    Hi guys.

For the first time ever, I have made my own breadcrumbs from whoopsied baguettes that I didn't get round to using. I would ordinarily turn them into garlic bread and freeze them but read in OS that they can be frozen as crumbs.

Well, I need some inspiration in using them up now please.

I know I can coat fish, etc and bulk out meatballs with them but I would like to try something else....

How do you use yours up?

  • There's a few recipes for puddings that use breadcrumbs - I think treacle tart and a few steamed puds

I usually make a savoury crumble, either with a cheese or tomato sauce. Mix the crumbs with some herbs and top with cheese and either grill or bake until golden.

    These are two I like:
