I do a lot of things for OH, more than what he does for me. But he does look after my car (which he bought for me!), cooks once in a while.

The reason why I complain a lot but end up doing everything over again is because he tells me he appreciates it.

Every so often he'll say "I know you do all this stuff for me, I dont know what I'd do without you." Which makes it a little better!!

My OH does always make the coffee but I think this is mainly because he has a friend who makes a point of doing this for his wife so my OH just thinks it's the way things should be done. He is also very good around the house, his parents both worked when he was a child so cleaning and cooking were shared roles. At the moment he is doing pretty much everything in the house as he is struggling with work.

This is one of a number of posts that you have put up about your OH. I think it's important for him to know without accusations what you would like from him and if this message is delivered clearly but very kindly with lots of praise when he gets it right then either he will do what you want to please you or his cultural or other issues are so deeply ingrained he does not feel that is his role, and maybe he doesn't resepct you enough to treat you as you would like to be treated. Let him know what you want and then you can make your own mind up about the reasons he won't oblige.

It has to be said that a man expecting a woman to do everything around the house is not wrong, it's just different and it may or may not be acceptable to you. Of course, if he isn't doing anything around the house you should be free to hire a cleaner/ work part time so that you have a similiar amount of free time as he does. Old fashioned values work fine, but in that case he does need to be fulflling the whole of the male role, earning the money.

  • I couldn't wish for a nicer partner and believe I do everything for her that I can to make her life as easy as possible.

She doesn't like breakfast in bed though and she knows I wouldn't. Can you imagine the crumbs :p

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
