    You can store spare dough in the fridge, yes - the cold will inhibit the yeast somewhat, but it will still continue to rise, so keep an eye out unless you want a dough monster overflowing in the fridge ! If it looks like it's getting out of control, just whip in out, punch the air out and reknead, and it'll be fine for a while yet afterwards.

    You can also freeze - the yeast will quit rising while frozen, but the cold won't kill it altogether, which means they'll be good to go once defrosted - freezing works better for stuff that does not need too much puff, though, like pizza bases - your loaves might end up a little bit flat if you attempt them with frozen dough, which is why it's much better to bake bread first, then freeze.

    bramble, you can also moisten pasta and rice salads with vinaigrette

    you make it with 3 parts acid to 1 part oil

    so, for instance, 3 tblsp vinegar (balsamic, white or red wine, rice, amything except malt vinegar really), 1 tblsp olive oil, or veg oil. Grind in some salt and pepper, I like to add half tsp grainy mustard. Then whisk tog with a little whisk to emulsify. Or put the whole lot in a jam jar with a good fitting lid, hold the lid on, and shake the jar vigourously

    I also like 3 tblsp veg oil, 1 tblsp lemon juice and 1 tsp honey

    I'm really enjoying hearing your adventures as you get through the month, you seem to have really thrown yourself into the challenge

    Thanks for that - i was thinking a vinigarette would go well with the rice salad i plan on making. We've got white wine vinegar so will give it a go!

    My early lunch plan has gone to pot...OH has gone out in search of some diesel...he's got work tomorrow and is going to pick up a cheque!

    The end is in sight! Well not really, but at least i can take a decent chunk of money to the shops and restock my store cupboard ready to attack the next month!! - going to do the shop online with mr S i think because 1. our house doesn't have a driveway and i can't paralell park very well so end up parking miles away from the house and making numerous trips back and forth to bring in the shopping! and 2. so i don't go over budget and only buy things i need.

    Trying to meal plan today, but struggling to find inspiration!!

    Thanks for this thread i have just decided to try out the weekly planner on the website mentioned at the beginning of this thread and i have ordered the food ready to come on friday.
