Ok, you've got me at it now! Have to tidy up, get ready, go out and collect Avon books, go shoe shopping for DS, then we are coming home, and DS is making boodle biscuits!0

bramble, I am so pleased you put up your request for help! I wouldn't have discovered that fab forum thread and website. There are so many nice recipes. They will help us to save money which we desperately need to right now, while I am looking for another job.0

bramble - can you say how you stored your spare dough so that you could re-use it? We're fairly new to bread & pizza dough making, and arn't quite sure whether the surplus can be stored in the fridge or freezer for using up later. Does the cold fridge temperature affect the yeast's ability to rise? If it can be stored in the fridge, that opens up all kinds of possibility for batch baking of bread & pizza. I did pose this question on another thread but didn't get a definitive answer.0

Hiya Primrose,
I made up the dough yesterday, let is rise and everything and just covered the 2 spare portions in cling film and stuck them in fridge! - not sure if this was the right thing to do or not, I took them out when i got up this morning and let them return to room temp and the pizzas seem fine, i had to work the dough a bit harder to make the bases, but the pizza's look and smell good so i assume the taste wil lbe fine!!
I'm not sure how long it would last in the fridge, but it's given me the confidence to make up pizzas for dinner on Saturday and to then save the remaining dough to do pizzas for lunches in the week too - i will probably make 2 lots of dough next time round and find out when the optimum time to store it is, they are so quick and make a nice change to a boring old sarnie!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

bramble, you can also moisten pasta and rice salads with vinaigrette
you make it with 3 parts acid to 1 part oil
so, for instance, 3 tblsp vinegar (balsamic, white or red wine, rice, amything except malt vinegar really), 1 tblsp olive oil, or veg oil. Grind in some salt and pepper, I like to add half tsp grainy mustard. Then whisk tog with a little whisk to emulsify. Or put the whole lot in a jam jar with a good fitting lid, hold the lid on, and shake the jar vigourously
I also like 3 tblsp veg oil, 1 tblsp lemon juice and 1 tsp honey
I'm really enjoying hearing your adventures as you get through the month, you seem to have really thrown yourself into the challenge0 -
Oh my god, i am in love with Boodle Biscuits. AMAZING, although i replaced the garam masala with cinnamon because garam masla seems to give me a headache!
My right thumb is dying a slow and painfull death...i keep carving chunks off it!
Pizza's are made, i can probably make mine stretch to 2 lunches, but OH's will only last him the one meal.
I've got lots of pasta and rice, so was thinking i could do him pasta salads etc for lunch, but we've not mayonaise so what could i use to make it less dry? He's not a massive fan of tomato based sauces but i think he could suck it up for this week, We've got a jar of pasatta and half a jar of spag sauce to use. I was going to make a rice salad with the kidney beans we've got in the cupboard, but don't really know what elese to put with it!
Going to start my roast at about 2pm so we have an early big meal and then we'll do boiled eggs or something for tea later if we get peckish...OH is STILL in bed so he better be hungry when he surfaces!!
If you have oil, vinegar and an egg, mayo is pretty easy to make in a food processor or with a stick blender?
