Hya folks...sorry missed out on Saturday nght....been rather down since Saturday afternoon...having a visit from the Black Dog, and not enjoying it (who does?!)

This is my first visit to MSE since Saturday...will catch up later. Just thought I would pop on to say hi, and say I will be back once I am coping better with the BD.

I managed to pick up 3 NSDS, and declaring today as one too, so that makes my total so far to 8 NSDS...one good thing about feeling c**p!

See you later, have a good day.

  • Hello everyone!

Yesterday was NSD number 7 for me - I'm hoping to keep the momentum going as I'm lagging behind a bit this month.

What do you ride Chris? My last one was an RF900R. The fuel consumption on that was disgusting, I don't think I was getting 35 mpg! If we swap mpg for mph though I was getting far and away bigger figures :rotfl:

I'm currently riding a Hornet - bought off a friend for only £200, ready to ride away! It's a little rough around the edges, but a perfect compromise of a little hint of sportiness, but not an out-and-out guzzler - the other day I got more miles out of a full tank than the Haynes manual said I could - oh how Martin would have been proud!!

NB I don't usually speak like that but it seemed appropriate somehow. I no it should be 'lend' ;)

....paid my TV off, one less debt....a bit of well thought out shoping, bout some kitchen scales, tin foil pie cases, frozen pasrty, fruit, veg, lentils chick pes etc,. so we can start to follow in every1 else foot steps on MSE and freeze some home cooked food. Thinking off starting wiv soups and shepards pies. I know i was gonna treat meself to lunch but saved the money i would ov spent and put it towards shopping insted....
:T Well Done Chris! It's great to think you will have an extra £X a month now you've cleared that bill. Like the bit about WELL THOUGHT OUT shopping as that is a big help to this Challenge & your bank balance! Have you had a look at the Grocery Thread for some recipes--there's a new one every month, plus a lot of links to other bits that help s-t-r-e-t-c-h the food budget.
My tip for using red lentils is to get them in a saucepan of water & start them cooking while you chop the veg & dry-fry the mince. As the water comes to the boil I skim off the scummy stuff with a spoon, turn down the heat so it's a gentle simmer then add the mince & veg & carry on as usual. Because they've had about a half-hour 'boil', the lentils literally disappear into the mince & you'd never know they were there. I learned this method after a few bad experiences where the lentils stayed hard like little bits of buck-shot :o but now The Offspring don't batter an eye-lid :p Good Luck x
....I was hoping to cycle in today but an interview changed that, so drove in so I can get to the place on time and with my portfolio :) So got to pay for parking (£3.50). So the spend days are kept at a minimum :)Err..your choice of course, but surely that is work-related? If you didn't drive, would you have taken a taxi to get your project there in one piece? It's not like you took in a jigsaw mat to have something to do during your lunch break :p

I am still on course for having made my lunch every day this month which has certainly helped me :) If I can keep going, I am on course this month to clearing my overdraft including charges from last month with a little bit extra :) :jYeay! Team NSD strikes again!

I shall then, be set up next month to FULLY start chucking extra spare cash at my CC debts :) Its such a great feeling and I feel like Ive had a massive weight taken off me :) I check my bank daily, I can goto the ATM with confidence knowing I have money in and what I can afford etc :)

    Yay \0/ :)

    Good luck all :)
I know when I realised that things were really 'that simple', I couldn't understand why I hadn't been doing these things years ago :wall:

Aren't they great! As usual Chris, you've flummoxed me with your in-depth knowledge of skid-lids :rotfl: Was it Urg's wedding when you found one with pony tails for me?

I was convinced it was the Rubber Day today; got the silicone baking trays ready, blown up me space hopper to get about & squeezed into next door's wet suit that is most definitely going to involve a tin opener & a craft knife to get me back out! Oh well...there's always next year I suppose...

  • Another NSD for me today. I was so close to stopping off at McD's for a meal but it was only the thought of posting on here that stopped me stopping off there;). Excellent and I still haven't stopped off at the bank to withdraw any money..

Hope everyone has had a good day :)
