Today my Frog was my Garden

When my Dad was alive as a temporary measure he turfed part of the garden, we used to joke about it being a Putting Green. Any how with everything that happened the garden fell to rack and ruin. When we got back on an even keel my sister and her bf offered to "do" the garden, they haven't but that is whole other rant. I took over the bit that my Dad had turfed, originally I had containers with veggies in (not a huge success!) and then in October I dug up the two sides and made flower beds. Of course by then it was too late to plant much.

And when I looked at it last week it was a right old mess, weeds horrible horrible weeds and the earth was rock hard in places. Any how I dug them all up and planted

    Lupins
    Sweet pea
    Marigolds
    Roses
Shrub things that might be dead
    Primulas
    Honey suckle

I am quite pleased with my little self to be honest. This was a BIG frog, have been putting it off for ages and ages.

Tomorrow I am going to dig over the rest of the Weeds, evil things and then put in a border thing and some some lights. I also want to plant a Hydranga don't think that is how you spell it but anyhow and Gerainuims (again spelling) and some more marigolds!

My old Next neighbour would be chuffed to know i had done all that!

  • Morning all

I woke up from a weird dream about an Ex which I think is trying to tell me something about the current notboyfriend.....which is odd but that is what I feel. I must remember(depressing as it is a beautiful day like this) people can and do lie extensively, I wish my instincts were clearer about this.

I really didn't want to start on a downer, sorry folks! Especially when I am so looking forward to today

    Shopping

    vinegar
    bicarb
plants x2 possibly 4? depending on flower bed plans.
    wire cutters

And then its back to finish the garden - well my little bit!! I have to weed etc..

After that I want to spring clean the house! well not all of it obviously but lots of bits and pieces need doing

    1. cobwebs
    2. mail
    3. clean and rearrange conservatory (just swopping two bits of furniture)
    4. bathroom
    5. my room
    6. usual saturday jobs of Guinea pigs and Fish!

ideally I would like to be done by six to sit down and watch Dr Who!

I have earmarked two sets of Projects to mark after DocWho.

Right it is nine oclock already I had best shift my bum!

    Have a wonderful day everyone,

    Love buffy xx

  • Right folks, I did my garden but as the second "flower bed" was over an old rubble pile (as far as I could tell anyway) and full of weeds that were highly committed to staying in the ground plus Red ants who were clearly looking for a meal it took hours!

I did manage to go shopping tho, to buy the extra plants, I am SO PLEASED with the end result. I have a garden with Roses and flowers and a bird bath type thing. Its brilliant.

How ever my little guinea pigs have had a very stressful day, in the garden for some of it, in their indoor run for other bits and now finally I have had dinner I can clean them out. They stink. I love them but they stink!

Hiya lovely, I am very envious of the garden, ours is so bare and everything I put in seems to either wither away and die or becomes a meal for snails.

One day I will have a veg patch but may have to invent the 30 hour day or 8 day week first. My trouble is I forget to do important things like watering:o
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • I forgot to wish my diary readers Happy Easter

The one time in the year you can legitimately use

    the:EasterBun:easter_os:easter_ba:icotbaske smileys and I forgot!

So a belated Happy Easter to everyone!

I got LOTS of chocolate! Green and Blacks Egg, After Eight Egg, mini eggs and Creme eggs and an Egg from one of my Stuents!

    I LOVE chocolate.

On the Matrix thread they are supposed to be doing some thing that makes their heart sing for 15 minutes each day - for me that would be eating CHOCOLATE!.....but I don't think that is exactly what they had in mind!

Anyhow The Frog Book - Eat that Frog by Brian Tracey that was mentioned on there, in a strange coincidence a couple of friends on Facebook had links to it on their wall and one had read the book, she really rated it and a few of his other books. I also have his Goals book and thought it was very good.

I have to say his practical get your !!!! together and get on with approach appeals to me immensely. The Frog thing - that you do the worst/hardest/biggest pain in the butt thing on your list first works very well for me in the holidays.

At work it is a little different I have a timetable and no free time but it is only three days till I have a day off again.

    SO this holiday I

    1. took Gps to Vets(and me to the doc)
    2. collected new glasses
    3. saw most of my close friends
    4. moderated coursework
    5. cleaned my class room
    6. did my garden:j
    7. did some filing (really need to shred!)
    8. started walking again
    9. begun my final 100 days till debt free ness.
    10. cleared out my wardrobe.
    11. went to Durham
    12. relaxed.

I am debating what to do today....................we shall see

    have a good one everyone
