  • GOt an e mail from Work, been doing my Frog you see and this e mail was about the Masters programme I am supposed to be on..........I haven't really done much work for it at all. Essentially my "team leader" says with the cuts the programme won't be continued..which I understand but it means if I want any qualifications from it I need to get my !!!! together to do it. HOWEVER I do have so much bloody work to do in the next six weeks that it would be mentally and physically very challenging to get the work done.

From this vantage point with two weeks off under my belt I feel great, but i know this week just as an example, tutoring, Masters, driving lesson parents evening, big party on Friday, my driving test is coming up, I am rescuing a guinea pig soon and have to see him through an operation, there is loads of !!!! happening at work...........I know it will come down on the priority list.

On the other hand it would justify my salary when looking for a job if I had more qualifications, I do like studying and I would be very disappointed to not do it............

    Grrrrrrrrr. I don't know.

  • Buffy you really have slayed your debt!! Love the username and the progress you have made. You make me feel very guilty with cleaning your classroom during the holidays!! :)

My only excuse is that I teach between three different rooms at present!

It was a pit, and the whole teaching in lots of rooms is horrible! I hated it!

I am getting there. It will be a such a relief. but May's budget is going to be SO tight (and June's and July!)

The summer holidays here begin on the 24th of June. My car insurance is due in July. This makes the 100 days challenge all the more tight. I am sure we will get there!!!
Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage :o
  • Buffy - re your Masters.
I gave up a course a few years back. I'd got a few weeks behind and was late giving in my 2nd assignment. I decided that it was too much with all the other stuff I had on my plate at the time and gave it up. I have regreted it ever since. A few months down the line, I realised that the other stuff was just chores and not important and I'd given up on something that would have made a difference.

Yes, it will be tough for 6 weeks but then it will be done and think of the sense of achievement you will have. Sometimes the harder something is, the more we feel proud of having done it.

Do you have anybody that can help you out with all the other stuff for the next month, so you can concentrate on your course? Are you on summer holidays afterwards...so can you do a deal that they help you now and you help them in return when you break up and have more time?

Can you delay any of the other things - to give you more studying time?

Can you extend the deadline of the course...in the lieu of the fact that they have only just told you of their decision to pull funding?

Sometimes things barge their way to the top of our priority list and really they should be further down.

    Looking-up
  • Thank you Looking up xx

I would regret not doing or not trying to do it. After talking to Bob on FB and people on the Matrix and reading your comments I have decided to go for completing the current module. There is a meeting this week about the rest of what we are doing and whether it is possible to "catch up"

I will make my decision by Friday. I think if I can i.e if I am allowed to I will catch up.

  • Some sensible words there. The masters has a long term effect. Hopefully they will let you carry on to complete the module so you can pick it up again later on.

Sounds like this holiday went more to plan than others and more how youu want them to be!
