Does anyone know how the speech bubbles work? I try clicking on the icon and a bubble appears at the bottom of the screen but I don't seem able to type in it - anyone else have a problem or could tell me how it works?

Also, what do you do if you have finished but the clock is still ticking? Is there a way to end the recording?

    Hi AndreaE,

To finish, all you need to do is click on view task in the top right, and the end task option is located in there. Just click on that and it'll take you to the next stage.

To leave a speech bubble, click on the bubble icon then right click on the part of the page you wish to comment on. (At least that's how I remember it from memory - it's along those lines though :))

When I first began testing I failed one, and got an email explaining why I failed and inviting me to try again. It passed on 2nd attempt.

There are examples of testers on the main page of actual Userlytics website. Basically all I do is think aloud. I put the fact I'm recording myself out my head and just say what I think. I do tend to repeat myself a lot, but I think most people do when just talking off the top of their heads (hope it's not just me anyway).

    Hi Linzi686

don't worry about repeating yourself. I know I say the same things again and again, and then sometimes recap right at the end. I'd imagine most people do that (hope so anyway!)

If the task stated you needed to leave a speech bubble then you may fail yes, but don't worry about it. Sometimes you're given another chance with that test, but if not it won't stop you being offered more.

It does get easier the more you do, don't worry :)

Thanks afro and Paul for the tips.

I'm still not sure why my test has failed to upload twice but they e-mailed me last night (they could see at their end that I had failed to complete the task) and asked me what had happened and promised to look into it.

Thanks so basically you have to keep talking. I talked alot but it seems not enough!

WHat happens if you finish before 10 mins just keep talking on i guess.

No, if you've done everything it's asked of you you can end the test at any time. What I usually do is bring up the task instructions every once in a while to check I've answered every question and completed every task.

When i think I have, I just check the instructions one last time, sum up then end. I've known some only take 5 mins, whereas with others the 10 mins disappears quickly
