Thanks OP for posting this, I signed up yesterday, had my first test today which was fun! This seems like a good way of making a little bit more money on the side, though I'll still be sceptical until I actually get paid :p

If you google userlytics there are lots of comments on wahm.com (work at home moms) and I havent read anything negative as yet. I've signed up but now cant find my webcam, I have a feeling I threw it out a few weeks ago as we've had it 10 years and not used it!

  • You're probably best checking the specs of your model online, google will even tell you

I wasn't sure if my laptop would be OK but I signed up anyway.

When you go to do your first test, it checks that the webcam and mic are working before you get started so if you are really unsure I would suggest you just give it a go anyway.

No one watches you live, you're just recorded while carrying out the tasks you've been given. You have complete control of the recording, and can cancel or delete it or start again if you feel you've made mistakes etc.

Once you've recorded and submitted your test, it's checked by Userlytics to make sure you completed all the tasks in the assignment, then either passed of failed. If it fails (very rare) you're told why it's failed and then sometimes given an opportunity to redo it.

If it passes then it's sent to the developer of the website so they can view your comments and tweak or redesign parts which you felt didn't work etc.

    Hope that helps,

    Paul :)

I am signing up as my laptop has it built in. Thanks.

  • No problem :)

I use my built in mic and cam too and have had no problems at all with quality of sound or vision.

One other tip (depending on the quality of the web-cam I suppose) is to always make sure you test in a very well lit room if you're testing at night, as sometimes a single bulb from across the room isn't strong enough to allow your face to be clearly lit (in my house, anyway - maybe I need better bulbs, lol).
