    Hi, :hello:

looks like you're off to a great start and should definitely come in debt free much sooner than 2015 at this rate :T

Are you any good with excel? I found the online snowball too restrictive and so bodged my own. Means I have to input every months overpayment manually but allows me to play about with all sorts of permutations, and am often quite surprised at the results (don't always follow them - :o heart rules head and all that :o - but food for thought at least).

Good luck with your journey, I have a sneeking suspicion you'll be quite inspiring so may hang around (promise I'll be quiet) if that's OK with you?

    Hi Keebs,
Welcome to my diary and DF journey.
You can make as much noise as you like. I had toyed with the idea of my own spreadsheet but the interest rates confuse me with the calculations.
I have a little note book that I note down all payments in.
    Thanks for your encouragement:)

Hi all or none of you.
    Monday again!!
So a quick re-cap. Yesterday had a lovely day out to celebrate my youngest granddaughter's 1st birthday. Although Parking was v expensive (£8 for 2 cars as my son didn't have any money-as usual) and ice-creams (£5.20) so not a cheap day out but lovely to see my DD (8) paying with her nieces (3 and 1).
Came home and DH suggested a carvery meal out. Didn't really want to becaue of the expense but everyone else wanted to go (easily led). Anyway meal was just OK but service was awful (waited 35 mins and stillwasn't offered dessert) although we didn't want any as had a trifle in the fridge at home. DH complained and meal ended up being free:j
So on to today - must do's
buy birthday cake for my mum
top up phone so get free texts and internet
    do PAD

I'm sure I am forgetting something but I'll recap later.

Have a good day all :)

Coming towards the end of the day.
It has been really stressful at work and not had a minute to collect my thoughts.
So had a lovely evening with my Mum (for her birthday) and daughter.
Have done my £2 PAD today.

    Plans for tomorrow -
must try to be more frugal, won't be able to manage a NSD as have to pay for DD karate lessons (budgeted for but now I am debt busting I don't want to spend any money:))

Good luck with this o2bfree, I admire your determination.

Just as another thought, when I first joined someone suggested to me the St Miniver free scratch cards, so I'll suggest it to you. You can normally win at least £50 a year from the free daily scratch cards (as long as you don't gamble the money!) and if you're online a lot it's worth doing even at 10p a day!

    Cheers

Incase it helps, this is the formula I use:

outstanding debt x (interest rate/100/365) x number of days in the month.

Although I'm lazy and just copy the formula straight down so just put 31 days in for the month regardless. It's never exact but not too far off and is always a pleasant surprise when I find I have that extra few £ spare after all

Great news on the free lunch and the grand day out all round, tis days like that which keep us all sane I reckon :D

Is it strange to be wanting the postman to come?
After years of dreading the thud of bills hitting the mat, I am strangely desperate for them to arrive.
I want to start paying balances off, seeing the little in roads I am making, seeing 4 figures turn to 3 figures, then 2 figures, then 0000000000000000.

What an effect Diary land has on you.:D

Isn't it so much better to be looking forward to them rather than dreading them :)

It's great to see all those little extra payments you make adding up
