Hi O2BFree,
I know exactly how you feel about paying off some smaller debts first - although it may not make a lot of logical sense, the confidence and momentum you gain from paying off/cutting up a card (for example) is invaluable for some people.
Keep up the good work, I will definitely keep up with your diary and your progress!

Well today I rifled through my purse and found 3 old lottery tickets (I could have been sitting on millions!!!!). But no.
But I did win £6.60 so that is going off a debt too, as I didn't know I had it I won't miss it.
Also it is pay day on Friday and nothing comes out of the bank until then so I decided what ever amount is over the whole number in my bank account I am going to send to my debt. For instance if there is £27.50 in the bank, I will send £2.50 tomake the balance £25.00.
All these litte extras will make the difference.Pay as much as you can in 2011- £3688.54/£6000Pay as much as you can in 2012 - £3190.96/£6000LBM - August 2010 - £19202.30Current - August 2012 - £11803.68Paid so far - £7398.620 -
Good luck with your DF journey.
Guessing the 34% is MBNA? Don't you just love them?!
(Can you tell I was robbed by them too?!?)
Will subscribe to see how your doing

Yep, dead right Beccie.
But I have decided to tackle smaller debts first to free up the payments to then pay against the higher APRs.
Well I went online banking and had £5.80 over my round figure so I have sent that to Next. Then with the £10 I saved in Boots yesterday, the £6.60 I won on Lottery and £2 a day from today.
I will have paid £28.20 extra by Friday, which is a pretty good start.Pay as much as you can in 2011- £3688.54/£6000Pay as much as you can in 2012 - £3190.96/£6000LBM - August 2010 - £19202.30Current - August 2012 - £11803.68Paid so far - £7398.620 -
Congratulations on starting your diary and your journey..... You have made an excellent start. Sometimes it does help just getting rid of the smaller debts and then you can put your attention on the rest. You may find it helpful to join some of the challenges too. There is a "pay a debt off in 100 days" challenge that has just started today which might be good for some moral support.
It is a good to have a debt free day in mind too - it helps with motivation. I want to be debt free no later than this time next year but ideally by May. This is CC debt and a car loan but excludes OH's student loan and our mortgage.
I found the Make £10 a day challenge on the DFW board brilliant when I first joined too! Good luckAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well day 2 of debt free life.
Today is definitely not a NSD as just had a new back door fitted as the old one was rotten through and through. But this had been saved for so not added to the debt pile. Feels good to have paid for it that way.
Today's to do's-
sort out my signature
put some bits on ebay
wrap presents for mother and granddaughter
post some parcels
change handbags (not a new bag but one I had in the cupboard but will feel like new as not used for a long time)
So tomorrow I am aiming for a NSD.
Did snowball calculator this morning and it says DFD july 2015. So got to knock about 3 years off that to hit my target of Sept 2012
